Louisiana's Pomeranian, "Cajun Gold", gets the writing bug, and she "types" a letter to her mistress, who is sad because she is facing back surgery.
Tuesday, January 25, 2005 (if I make any mistakes, blame my short self! Too far for me to reach the computer keys! LOL)

Dear Mommy~

Hi! I wish I could lick your tears or your sadness away; when you came home from the Human Doctor's office yesterday, you look like I do whenever you take me to my Doctor, when I get a shot! Did you get a shot? Or was it something much worse?

Did I hear that you need surgery? Will you have to spend the night at the kennel, like I do when I am sick? I pray and hope not; I worry about you...

I am sorry I yakked on the floor earlier, but I got a hold of some of "Cajun's" fur, and it tasted disGUSTing! UCH! There's nothing more disGUSTing than eating CAT FUR! GROSS! Or maybe I got some of my hair in my stomach, I don't know, but something got my tummy in an uproar! But I DO feel better now since I got sick; and I hope I don't do it again! That's NASTY! UCH!!

Who were you writing to earlier? Your fingers were really flying on the computer keys; you type really fast! I don't think I could EVER learn to do that!! You are an expert typist; you ought to be a Secretary or something! You're good! Was it your friend in Alaska, Sikik Ee--oh, I am not even going to ATTEMPT to try to spell her last name; it's at least a million letters long! SHEESH!! (Bet it was fun for her when she was learning to write her name! YIKES!! ANYway, tell her that I say ARF! (er, I mean, HELLO!), and tell her that I am sorry her mommy died! I wish I could go to Alaska and lick HER tears away like I have been doing to you today!

I am trying to be on my best Doggie Behavior, but it is hard when the Human Kids are picking on me, and it is hard when all they want to do is play with me when all I want to do is sleep! Is it any wonder I have been a Growly Doggie lately? Please don't send me to the Pound or to the Vet's; I promise I'll be good...Or is it becasue you are in so much pain? I hate it when you hurt; when you hurt, it only makes me want to cry right along with you, and right now, my little Pommie heart can't take it! There's been too much sadness here lately!! *whimper, whine, whine*

Well, Daddy is giving me the Evil Eye again because I am on the computer, so I best get off before he whacks me one with his stick or the newspaper...I just wanted to write and let you know just how much I love you and I wish in my little Doggie Heart that I could make it all better...I am praying for you, as only a Doggie can do; I pray all goes well when you DO go into the hospital and have your surgery...

Bye for now!

~Love, your Doggie Buddy, "Cajun Gold". :(

If our furry little friends did write letters, I'm sure this is exactly the kind they would write; their compassion for their human friends is endless - and we would do well to try to be as loving as they are.
