Dear Journal~
I know I just wrote the other day, and told you what was on my mind; but I still have stuff to talk about, so you know how that goes...
First of all, my maman is facing back surgery sometime in the next month or so. She has a "prolapsed disk" in her lower spine (lumbar region of the back), and it is causing her a lot of grief. She is walking with the aid of forearm crutches, and she is in a great deal of pain; and it really saddens me, because if I know my mommy, she is NOT one to complain all that much! She saw the doctor on Monday, and after she had an MRI and other tests, the results confirmed that she had a slipped disk, and this was pressing on her sciatic nerve. *OW.* No WONDER she has been hurting so badly lately; there's NO telling how long it's been like that! ANYway, if she doesn't get it taken care of as soon as possible, she could be in a wheelchair and paralyzed within the year; so you know when I heard the news, I CRIED! I really feel so bad for her!
Secondly, my friend, M'Buti and her husband, Roberto, are new parents for the fourth, fifth, and sixth time. They had TRIPLETS, all boys (well, M'BUTI did, NOT Roberto! LOL). The kids all weighed under five pounds each, and except for the umbilical cord being wrapped around the one baby's neck (he wasn't breathing and didn't have a pulse when they got him out of M'Buti; thankfully, quick action saved him), they had no problems, and they are all doing quite well, even the one who started out not doing so good. Their names are Koji, Kenji, and Kiloki, and they are all cute, according to Roberto. So now they have five boys and one girl! WOW! Talk about an instant FAMILY GROWTH SPURT! YIKES! I am just glad they didn't have more than THREE! LOL I am so happy for them all I could just BUST with JOY! :)
I am still going to Hollywood, to tape my show; but it looks like I will have to go with my uncle, in case daddy has to be with maman, whenever she has her surgery. That is okay, but I was kinda' hoping that maman could go with me; I need her support! But I am still glad for Uncle Carl's support; he lives here in Nashville, about 10 minutes away from us; so he's not too far away from me. I am just glad that daddy is going to be there for maman; she needs him after she has her surgery (but then BOTH need help coz daddy's back isn't the greatest in the world..and he's already had TWO back surgeries himself!). I pray maman does well during her upcoming back surgery; and I hope she does well during the recovery phase...I will be praying HARD!!
I heard from my friend's mother; and it seems that Marvella is still hanging on by a thread. She is still "critical", and it will be a while before she gets over her stroke. She is in a drug-induced coma, so she can rest, and she is still paralyzed; but we are hoping for a miracle. I really feel bad for Mrs. Johnson; Marvella is her only daughter, and she and her mom are both really close. I pray she makes it...I have been there where she is at presently, and I DON'T want to do it EVER again! NO SIREE! I will keep you updated on Marvella Johnson's situation as soon as I hear anything new, so stay "tooned"...
I got into a major fight with Nicole today at school...she called me a show-off, and she said that all I was thinking about was that stupid show I am going to be on. Well, maybe so, but she doesn't realize the practice I have had to do to make it this far, and she doesn't realize that I am as nervous as nervous can be! (What if I flub up on national tv? I'll be the laughing stock of the neighborhood, and I would never be able to show my face in public again!) I got mad at her and told her she whined and complained too much; and whoa, was THAT the wrong thing to say! She slapped me across the face, and she then stormed off; and we haven't said a word since then! I don't know who is at fault here, but I think Nicole is a tad jealous...she has really been a grouch lately, and I DON'T like it AT all! I pray we make up; Nicole and I are two peas in a pod, and we've been through so much together with our health...
So needless to say, my mood isn't the best; it's not like Nicole or I to fight like cats and dogs! Ever since her father died, she's been a b**** (rhymes with itch or witch; I am not allowed to say or spell out the word, or else I owe the "cuss jar", and I am NOT making that mistake!), and she's been right impossible to be around at times! But I AM seeing Loretta Lynn again when she comes back here to Nashville, and my manager is already talking about thinking of contacting her to see if I can open up for her again...I hope so; I love opening up the show for her; she is too cool, and she really appreciates up and coming singers! She treats them with respect, and I really like that! More singers ought to take lessons from her and learn from her; I certainly have!
I watched "American Idol" last night, and it was HILARIOUS! They only had maybe ten or so good singers; the rest were...well, let's just say, BAD! Gene Simmons of "KISS" was the guest judge, and he made some really funny comments; and Paula and Randy (Abdul and Jackson) got mad at one another and walked out for part of the show, they were so mad...YIKES! The contestants...I don't know what some of them were THINKING when they tried out for the show...some of them were flat out AWFUL! But I still tried to watch it with a straight face (I wouldn't like people saying bad things about ME, so I try to be respectful of other people's feelings and their talent, even if they don't have much!); still, it was hard to do at times! There was this one guy from Texas, and he...YIKES!! Let's just say he was WEIRD with a capital W! I am watching it again later tonight; wonder how they will do tonight! Guess the only way I will know is tune in and watch!
I also watched a show afterwards called "House", about this doctor, and I couldn't watch it; it was too gross at times, and the language was kinda' bad. They also showed this kid having a major seizure, and it was disGUSting; it reminded me of my brother, Johnny, when he has one of his seizures, and it really bothered me, so I left and turned on "SpongeBob". I guess I must have looked like that when I had my seizures, and it upset me; but once I turned on "SpongeBob", I was okay.
Well, I am going to go; I am going to take a bath and then eat before "American Idol" comes on at seven, so toodles for now! Will write in here later; c ya!

Excellent write. I think Nicole is jealous of Ronee, maybe Ronee doesn't need to brag so much??? I don't know. Just hope they make up--Nicole's got it rough, too, ya know? Maybe Ronee' could be a little more understanding of Nicole's situation???
