Ronee' writes in her journal during her bus ride home from school. Today the kids got sent home early because of a reported gas leak.
Monday, the 31st of January, 2005, 12:21 p.m., C.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

We had an exciting day at school today: we hadn't been there even an hour when we started smelling something like gas, and the teachers got worried (as did the principal), so they said that we were getting out earlier than normal. So I am now on the bus, on my way home from school. So we didn't really get a lot accomplished at school today, and I was kinda' mad!

Luckily, not many kids got sick from the gas fumes, but I was starting to have some shortness of breath; and some other kids started having breathing problems too (plus some started feeling sick and dizzy), so this was why the school people decided to cancel school for the rest of the day until the gas leak could be located (and hopefully repaired). If it is fixed later on today, we will be able to go back to school tomorrow; but for now we are off. (I am feeling much better; but I have my inhaler with me, just in case. Luckily, I didn't have too much probs with my breathing, but enough to be annoying.)

I guess I will either write letters today on my computer, or I will sleep, as today was one of my therapy days, and I got up at 3 this morning (so I could have my bath to unstiffen my joints, plus eat my breakfast and take my morning meds, and be at the hospital by seven so I could have my physical therapy session). I am very tired now; and it seems that every few minutes I am yawning my fool head off!

I watched my program yesterday, and I was kinda' pulling for Lindsay Beth Harper, this young yodeler from Georgia, and also this little girl, Solene LeVan, who was six, and sang like an angel. She also played the violin, and she was very cute. But this 14-year-old girl named Karen Flores, won, and although she WAS very good, I was pulling for either Solene or Lindsay. I just hope I do well when I go to Hollywood to tape the show next month, and I hope that I have at least a chance at winning! If not, oh, well, but it WOULD be nice! I am starting to get nervous thinking about it, and I just hope that I don't flub up when I AM on the show! That would be too embarrassing!

I also watched "Extreme Home Makeover" yesterday, and it was good, but everything was for this little girl who had had a heart transplant, and I was feeling that it was unfair because it was like the rest of her family was left out; and it kind of made me mad. I know that she needed to have special things done to her home, so she wouldn't get sick, but still, I wish that they thought of the other family members first instead of just the little girl. It was like they were singling her out, and the feelings I was feeling semed quite familiar to me. If I were in that situation, I would like to have things done for my family too, not just for me!

As you can guess, I didn't go to church yesterday. The pastor was out with the flu, and a good part of the congregation wasn't feeling too good either; I guess they must have been coughing and sneezing their brains out, so they canceled church services yesterday. So this was why I got to watch both "America's Most Talented Kids" and "Extreme Home Makeover", which I usually don't watch until Monday night after I get my homework done. (Maman usually tapes the shows when we are at church, so I don't miss a thing; and we then watch it the next night.)

The weather is sunny out, and kinda' coolish; but not too cold out to where I would have to wear my parka. I got a parka while I was in Alaska last year, and it is so nice and warm on the cold days! I just love it! People say I look like a little Inuit girl when I wear my parka, my caribou-fur gloves, and my mukluks, and I don't even have to worry about achy joints or being cold when I have my parka, gloves, and mukluks on! When we had the blizzard a few weeks ago, I had on my parka, mukluks, and my gloves, and I was as warm as toast! Sure, my cheeks and nose got cold, but everything else on me was warm, and it was sooooooooo nice! :)

I am home now; so I will get off. I will write more later. Until then, this is your pal, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux, signing off! C ya! Bye!

~Luv, your friend, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux. :)
