Dear Journal~
I have tried to do this before, but I wasn't getting anywhere, so I (more or less) gave up. For one thing, my life has been too busy.
I have been doing tons of homework for school, and I also have been babysitting the younger kids whenever maman and daddy have to go somewhere. I also have been spending time with my boyfriend, but lately, he seems to have one thing on my mind (sex; I am a firm believer in abstinance, and I think that engaging in sexual activity before you are mature enough is only asking for trouble!); so I just may end up breaking up with him if things don't improve.
This is Barbara. I am almost sixteen now; I will be 16 next month, on the 16th of March, and I have long, blonde hair, dark brown/black eyes, and am pretty short for my age. I am also still skinny, and no matter how much I eat or try to put away, I just can't seem to get any meat on my bones! I guess it partly has to do with the fact that I am incredibly athletic. I play basketball in the winter, football in the fall, and baseball/softball in the spring; so my schedule is full. I also play music, and that takes up my time too in the summer, once baseball season is over. (I play the Cajun accordion mostly, but I also can play the fiddle, guitar, banjo, and piano. I am very musically inclined; and I love it!)
I live with my mom, Louisiana, and my dad, Bill, on 395 Twin Rivers Lane here in Nashville, Tennessee, and I also live with my brothers and my sisters. We are a very big family: mama and daddy have adopted a grand total of *fifty* kids (most with special needs!), and they are thinking of adding two more to this conglomorate. LOL I keep telling them they are both whacked out, but maman just got back from helping out the tsunami victims in Sri Lanka (she was gone for a week), and there were two children that just tugged at her heartstrings; and now she and daddy are persuing to adopt them. The one is a baby boy of six months (his name is Arjun), and the other is a little girl of five (her name is Rani). Both incredibly survived the devastating tsunami, but Rani (the girl) was injured, and she is now currently receiving physical therapy. The boy, miraculously, emerged without a scratch. So they have both been working hand-in-hand with their adoption lawyer and the AASK Agency (Aid To The Adoption of Special Kids). It has really been fun, and we are hoping and praying that the adoptions are approved, and then we will have two more kids to our family. WHEE! LOL
I was adopted when I was nine; I became orphaned at the age of six when my parents both died in a hurricane. I had a very hard time adjusting to the losses of my parents, and also moving away from my beloved Louisiana home (I was born in Church Point, which is in the heart of Cajun Country, below Lafayette), but I eventually came around, and I grew to love not only my (adoptive) mother and my father, but my new brothers and sisters. Now it has gotten to the point to where I can't imagine my life without any of my brothers or sisters, and I just love them all so very much! Now I am almost sixteen; it seems hard to believe that seven years have passed since I was first adopted into the Sandusky family!
I will write more later; I have to help set the table (it's my turn to set the table tonight), so I have to go. I hope you liked what I wrote so far!

I Love what she wrote here, My mom and I were just talking about the acordian the other day. That's cool that she plays that.
