Diane R. Aguilar, Louisiana's friend in Del Rio, Texas, emails her friend after Louisiana has written to her. Like Louisiana, Diane has been incredibly busy as well.

Dear Louisiana~
Thank you, oh, thank you so much for writing! It was a pleasure to finally hear from you at last!
I had my MRI scan on Christmas Eve, and I have found out that I have a tumor on the brain; but from the looks of it, they don't think it is cancerous. Still, as a precaution, I will have to have chemotherapy and radiation treatments; I am a little scared, but I know that I am covered with the concerns, good wishes, and prayers of my friends! I will have to have my mother watch my kids while I am at the hospital, getting my treatments, and my grandmother can stay with my husband.
But here's some better news: my husband has finally been approved for his disability; but it may be up to six months before he gets his first disability check. It was a long, very hard fight, but it was worth every struggle, and I even contacted the March of Dimes and the Easter Seals Society; they will provide us with the wheelchair and crutches (free of charge, mind you!) for my husband; so maybe he will be able to get around easier than he has been as of late. I certainly hope so; he has been so miserable lately, and it breaks my heart to see him suffering so!
My kids are all fine; they are doing a great job in helping mommy and daddy out, and they haven't been sick lately (thank goodness; I have had enough of flu season already!). Have any of your kids had the flu or the cold? I didn't get sick, but my husband and the kids did. Rosie even went into the hospital because she got pneumonia (her lungs have always been weak), but she is now fine. She is back at her school, and she is doing quite well.
We had a wonderful Christmas; it sounds like you sure did! That was so nice to have your daughters and your friends over! It was just us and my mami and papi; it was (for us) fairly quiet, quite uneventful. How is your friend, Kendra, doing? Has she adopted the little girl from Japan yet? If so, how old is she, and what is her name? I have been thinking of writing to her, but I don't know what to say! LOL I guess I have always been a little on the shy side...I get it from my mami...
I know this isn't much, but nothing much is really going on; my life is still the same old, tired grind it's always been...between taking care of a sick husband and six kids with special needs, plus dealing with my own health problems, it hasn't been easy at all, my friend! I will let you know how my first chemotherapy treatment goes; but I WILL say this: if they are going to strap me in and lock me in a machine like they did for the MRI, I would much rather NOT know! Or they can knock my happy a** out! Let's just say I had a pretty panic attack in the MRI; they had to knock me out with a sedative; once the sedative took effect and I went off to La-La Land, I didn't care WHAT they did to me. LOL
Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers; and pray that 2005 is better for us! Last year was NOT a good year for us Aguilars!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your (severely claustrophobic) Texas friend, Diane Renee'. ;P

Well after having several MRI's one can say that it is always a relief when things turn out well. But I know the anxiety of them. A very informative write here.
