4 p.m. I find myself asking why this mysterious scent of perfume happened Wednesday night, during meditation & class.

I am now wondering if it has something to do with my writing this Journal. The last entry was on the prayer to Our Lady, the "Hail Mary". Perhaps, as in the edit room, Our Lady is blessing my poor efforts to bring Her before the world’s view - Her way of saying "Continue with your efforts, they are pleasing to Me." Of course, unless She Herself tells me the reason, speaks to me - as She once did, in the most Beautiful Voice imaginable - I will not know the true reason for Her visit.

Since there were at least two identifiable & separate perfumes, it is also possible that one or more of the Desert Fathers were there as well. It will be interesting to see if the same phenomena occur next week.

In my mind, these supernatural occurrences are given to us mortals for many reasons. They are a certain "proof" that God and His Divine Beings exist, & that They may be present among us. These happenings can be a "Glimpse" into other realms & higher Realities; they can encourage us lesser mortals to strive for sainthood & perfection on our earthly journey; they remind us that something far greater & far more important than our physical bodies & psychologies exist, that we are the soul; they give us a "Glimpse" into the Beauty of our own Soul, our true being, & God (I am smelling roses again as I write this); &, I suppose, a sort of signal to get our attention - which, for the most part, tends to wander from God toward more worldly interests.

In my poor experience, even if we take very small & feeble steps towards God, towards Our Lady or other Divine Beings - they willingly come to us with Graces & Gifts we could not have even imagined. And if we go through our suffering here on earth turning towards God & offering it up for the world - or giving it to God as a humble yet precious gift (for often it is all we have to give Him), with love and trust - the rewards, in my experience, are truly beyond our human imagination.
