Dear Kendra~
Wow, what a terrific woman you must be...having twelve little girls ranging in age from two on up to 16, and you are getting a new Miracle from Japan! How absolutely wonderful!
I have heard of spina bifida: my sister, Gaby, has it; she has had a lot of health problems, and she just got out of the hospital after suffering another breathing crisis. I am happy to say that she is on the mend, but she has always been sickly! And then there's our mother, who has emphsema and is on oxygen..I take care of her before I go job searching; and it is about to wear me out! She can get so grouchy at times, but she sure does enjoy having her grandkids over! I am sorry you are in a wheelchair, but it is obvious to me that there is nothing "disabled" about your gifted mind or your loving spirit! You are an angel beyond compare!
Thank you too for telling me about young Rebekkah Rachel in Sacramento and also Louisa May Mason in Soulsbysville; that is good you can be there for one another! I would get out more myself, but I have the demands of the boys, and I also have to take care of my sick mother; and you know how that goes...I also have been looking for a job; but so far no luck. Be praying for me, okay?? I just may pop in and write Louisa or Rebekkah one of these days!
I have been writing to a woman in Nashville, Tennessee, named Louisiana Sandusky, who is the mama to an astounding *50 children*! Her letters are so home-spun and full of life; I just love getting mail from her! She said that she was sending me a copy of her book, "A Family Made out of Rainbows and Miracles" (autographed, no less!); that is nice of her! I shall be looking forward to her book in the mail in the next few weeks! Both she and her husband work, and they live for their children! It is obvious just by the sound of her letters just how much love she has inside her heart; what a sweet, caring woman she is to take on such a huge responsiblity! Two children are enough to do me in; I just can't imagine being the mother to *FIFTY children*! YIKES!
But I was sad to hear that she has to have back surgery in a few weeks. I shall most certainly put her on our prayer chain at our church, Rising Waters Pentecostal; she sounds like she could use a lot of prayer! What a awful thing, back pain...I have had it for years myself, but lately my back has been behaving itself; but I am ready for the other shoe to drop...
Well, Kendra, I know this isn't much, but I will write more about myself in a future letter. Take care of your family, and I hope that Hope brings you a lot of joy! God bless you all mightily!
