This story is as yet unedited..i was just hoping to get some feedback on what i have so far.. :)

I stare through my stained glass window awaiting the man I saw in my vision. Oh my, was this one beautiful. Longish black hair with blue eyes I could just die over. Mmmm….he was going to be delicious. Turning back to my mirror, I stare at the women I see there and can barely recognize her. My skin is pure white like porcelain and my eyes green as the leaves on my huge oak outside of my window. So green, I shock many people when my gaze falls on them. I suppose they think they are colored contacts which is fine with me as it successfully hides my secret.

I get dressed up whenever I’m expecting this kind of company. A beautiful black dress which shows off my figure deliciously. This dress always make men look at me with warm lust in their eyes while I feign the same lust to lure them to their deaths.

I look out into the twilight again, wondering why this man is taking so long to get here, when my mirror showed him arriving at dusk. Suddenly, I realize he is there, waiting in his car. His head is down as if he is contemplating something very serious and suddenly I sense something about him I’ve never sensed before. He knows me, knows who I am. But, does he know that I’m a vampire? I ask myself. Slowly, he turns his head and sees me looking out at him. One corner of my full red lips turns up in a sly half smile which allows him to break the monotony on his face and smile back.

These men are men I’ve been “set up” with by a good friend of mine. She’s human, but keeps doing as I ask holding on to the promise she will one day have someone else doing her bidding. She’ll befriend these desperate or heartbroken men and then tell them about a beautiful, kind, compassionate woman who they have sooo much in common with.

Her name is Clara and I still haven’t decided her fate. Clara has told me that this one was special, but she didn’t say how…she said it would be a surprise. Now, I think I know what she meant…I could tell he was gorgeous. Obviously a man, but with somewhat androgynous features; for instance his beautiful, round blue eyes with black lashes that any woman would kill for. His skin is soft, but tight against his jaw with full, luscious red lips that I can imagine on my skin as easily as I see him staring at me through the window of his car.

Although magnificently beautiful, this man is different in a way Clara never imagined. As I look through his thoughts, which is no easy task with this one for some reason, I realize he’s seen me in Clara’s thoughts and recognized me. Even though he’s human, he’s able to read others thoughts to a certain extent and for someone like that, Clara is like a book left wide open on a desk. But, he doesn’t recognize me as a vampire, but as a woman. He knew me when I was human! That was over 20 years ago. He must have only been a boy. I try to picture a boy about 7 or 8 years old and still can’t place him.

His thoughts are so blocked, I can’t figure out what he’s thinking about all this. A woman who was 19 at the oldest when he knew her and hasn’t aged a day since he met her. That was when I was transformed. I was 19 and in college. I remember the girl I used to be. Poetic and compassionate, I could never have imagined I would become this blood thirsty creature. At first, I only killed evil-doers, but my thirst took over within the first decade and I started to kill men simply because they were beautiful to me and I wanted to enjoy their sweet blood running down my throat.

He’s obviously thinking very seriously about coming up here. He’s got fear in his eyes even through the smile he gave me. Slowly, he opens the car door and steps out. He has roses so red in his hand they are almost black. From here, they look like soft velvet against his skin and I can see the thorns are still on them. Another vampire gift is being able to see exceptionally far like a wolf or wildcat. I can also see in the dark as good as any nocturnal creature.   As he walk up the sidewalk to my Victorian mansion, I know he sees me in his peripheral vision looking at him and he knows I’m trying to read his thoughts. This one is definitely different and I am very curious about that.

After the door bell rings, I walk quietly to the door and open it, standing in front of me is one of the most beautiful men I have ever seen. Something happens to me that hasn’t happened in twenty years, my heart quickens and I feel myself becoming nervous. There is a power in his eyes that I don’t recognize and I am maybe even slightly afraid. I wouldn’t know though as I haven’t felt fear in a long time.

“I’m sorry, um, come in” I say to him.

“Thank you.” He smiles shyly as he walks past me into the foyer.

“Well, Clara certainly didn’t tell me how handsome you would be.” I say.

“Well, Clara didn’t tell me you were so beautiful. Here I brought you these. She said you liked dark colors.” I stare down at the roses in his hands and can’t help but smile at his last statement. I take the roses to put them in water and almost melt at his sweet smile.

As I walk into the kitchen, I try to keep myself together. Ariana, I say to myself, get yourself together…he’s just a human.

I hear him follow me into the kitchen and I can feel him watching me. He’s staring at my long black hair and the figure underneath the black dress. I’m not wearing makeup because there is much natural color in my face. My lips are always red and my skin always looks soft as velvet.

“This is a beautiful home. May I ask how old it is?” He says this as if he already knows the answer and I realize he’s been here before.

“Quite old.” I say, “Over a hundred years old at least. It has a beautiful spiral staircase up to the second floor. That’s probably the main reason I bought it. I’d always wanted a spiral staircase. There’s something so wonderful about that shining wood curving around and around.” After putting the flowers in a vase I turn around to face him. I study him carefully and his smile begins to fade. He knows again that I’m trying to read his thoughts. I want to know how he knows me and if he’s figured out what I am.

“So, where are you from, Tom?” I begin, “I mean, are you from around here?”

“Yes, actually, I grew up in this very neighborhood.” He says this with a sly smile but his eyes are fixed intensely on mine. I realize he’s trying to read MY thoughts. Well, that’s a brick wall he’ll never get through.

“Come, I’ll show you the rest of the house.” I start to walk out of the kitchen and when I begin to walk towards him, he backs away a little with his eyes averted. So, he is afraid, I think.

I walk him around the old house and show him all the wonderful architecture that has been renovated to its original condition. His fear seems to leave him as he is amazed at the beautiful woodwork and stained glass windows depicting dark angels.

We sit down in the living room and I ask him if he wants any wine. I can drink small amounts of wine, but too much will make me ill as my body is now for drinking blood.

I decide to cut to the chase.

“So, where is it you know me from, Tom?” He starts at this and stares at me with amazement. As if all his fears were suddenly founded.

Tom looks down at the ground and runs a hand through his soft black locks hanging in his eyes.

“Well, I guess I wasn’t doing a very good job of hiding it, was I?”

“No, not really. But then again, I think you knew exactly what you were getting into when coming here, didn’t you?”

“Yes, I suppose I did.” Looking up at me, he begins to tell me: “My family moved into the house next door to yours. The one on the right; I used to see you coming back and forth from school. I had a huge crush on you.” His cheeks flush at this, but he continues.

“Anyway, my parents knew you from normal neighborhood chit chat and they asked you to baby sit me one night. You agreed and I came here so you could watch over me while my parents went out on one of their frequent nighttime visits to some very strange people. I never knew where they were going, but they always came home smelling like strange incense and herbs. They always looked different too; Somehow more vibrant and alive. It wasn’t until later that I found out where they were going and that’s where you come in. Ariana, do you remember the night you were…changed?”

I stare at him somewhat amused, but also exceedingly surprised.

“No…” I begin slowly, “Whoever it was attacked me, made me drink their blood and then left before I really even saw their face. I remember babysitting that night. I don’t know what happened to the child I was watching. When I awoke from the “blood coma,” I packed everything I had and left town. It was strange. I instantly knew what I was when I awoke and knew how to take care of myself. I knew what needed to be done.”

I stop and look at Tom. Slowly, it dawns on me.

“You’re name isn’t Tom then. It’s Brian. The boy I was watching that night was named Brian.” Brian smiles at me and nods. “I was taken that night. Taken somewhere that I can’t remember now. I remember pain and I remember drinking blood. I was dropped off near my house one day when I was about 15. My parents had thought I was dead all that time and were getting ready to move. So we moved to California, which was a huge change from New Jersey. Anyway, I started to notice that I could read others thoughts. I saw all kinds of things. Things people were embarrassed about, ashamed of, what turned them on…(laughing) I can tell you that most people out there are real sick.”

I laugh with him at this and relish in the humanity of it. I haven’t sat and talked like this with a human in over 2 decades. I find myself being less and less attracted to the smell of his blood. He makes me feel less like an animal.

“So, what made you come back?” I ask him.

“I met one of you. It was a woman in a bar who was trying to pick me up. But, she didn’t realize I could read minds and I read hers. I saw that she was thinking about drinking my blood and she was imagining my death. Then, I started to dig a little. I picked up images of others. Finally, I found an image of you and I recognized you right away. There wasn’t a night that had gone by that I hadn’t wondered what had happened to you that night or what happened to both of us that night. When she realized I had read her thoughts, she became enraged. She told me she was gonna kill me as soon as I wasn’t surrounded by people.  So, I somehow missed her vengeance before I was able to leave town and I decided to come back here. I found Clara by catching images from people and I introduced myself at that bar to get closer to you. It didn’t take long before she was asking me if I wanted to meet a great friend of hers. How do the neighbors not notice you’re the same girl from 20 years ago?”

Now, its my turn to laugh. “Mostly because people don’t usually accept these things as easily as you have. They tell themselves I’m her long-lost cousin or something like that. I’ve lived here for the past decade and a half and from what I’ve read from people, no one has noticed that I don’t appear to age. A lot of people don’t seem to stick around here long enough to notice.”

“And none of these missing men you’ve been killing have been traced back here to you?”

“No. Well, once, but I was able to “convince” the cop investigating that it had nothing to do with me….”I pause. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll kill you, especially now that I know you know my secret?” I ask him. Although, I think I already know the answer.

“No, for some reason I banked on you finding a little humanity left and not being able to kill someone you actually know. I’m right aren’t I?” I stare at Brian as he says this and have already decided I won’t kill him, but I’m surprised that he seems to already know this. Has he been reading my mind all this time? I’m becoming increasingly attracted to him. And not on a vampire to its prey level, but as a woman to a man.  However, I am starting to get hungry.

“Brian, do you trust that I won’t kill you?” He nods. “Can I trust you not to tell anyone about this?” Again, he nods.

“As strong of a mind reader as you are, I’m still stronger. I’ll know if you tell anyone and I’ll kill you if you do.” I say.

“I understand.” He says

“I want you to leave…” he starts to say something, but I stop him. “For tonight. Can you come back tomorrow night? I want to continue this.” Reluctantly, he stands up and gets ready to leave. I walk him to the door and he bends down to me and kisses me on the cheek.

“Maybe I still have a little bit of a crush on you, after all. Even if you aren’t human anymore.” His smile has me close to bursting with desire for him, but I let him leave. Desire is too close to hunger right now. I decide to do something I haven’t done in a long time. I decide to hunt for a killer.

Traveling over  long distances is extremely easy for us vampires. We can easily run at over a hundred miles an hour without anyone seeing us flash by them. I picked up the image of this fledgling vampire that threatened Brian and I’m feeling awfully protective tonight. I decide to find her. It doesn’t take me long to pick up on her. She’s in a local bar in Los Angeles and I seduce her into coming out with me. She thinks I’m a friend, an ally. Taking her outside and watching her in the moonlight I see she’s quite a beauty. Long blond hair…wavy like cornsilk and with beautiful blue eyes that look like mine…like extremely bright color contacts. Her skin isn’t quite a smooth or free of blemishes like mine as she is younger. She’s very, very young. Maybe only a year or two. She likes women…I’ve picked that up from her already. I talk to her about being new to Los Angeles and where the best places are to hunt. We walk down to a dock and stare out over the boats at the water. I begin to caress her neck with my fingers and she turns to me ready to kiss my lips. Her lips are flushed red as she must have fed not too long ago. As she closes her eyes and approaches my face, I wrap my long fingers around her neck with one hand and use the other to rip open her shirt. Her bare breast exposed, she opens her eyes and is in a fury. But, by then I have her and am already drinking. I push her against the dock railing and choke off her screams as I slop up the blood. Normally, I’m quite clean, but this time I gashed her neck open and blood is running sweetly down her chest. As I drain her, she stops struggling and soon she is nothing but an empty shell while I’m bloated with her powerful blood. Drinking from another vampire gives you their strength, so its not looked too favorably that we drink from each other involuntarily. But certain circumstances call for certain actions.

I drop her empty carcass into the water and even though she is empty and deflated, she sinks right to the bottom. There is always a chance she may still resurrect by feeding on fish, but with one this young, its doubtful and I don’t much care either way. I begin the trip back. This has taken a lot of time and as the sun rises, I begin to weaken. I know I’ll have to stop and rest. The sun doesn’t kill us, but it greatly weakens us and I won’t be able to travel at top speed, vampire blood in me or not. I stop at a motel and get a room until dusk when I begin to travel back to Jersey.

When I arrive back, Brian is waiting in my driveway. I walk up behind the car and tap on his window. This gives him a start and he almost screams.

“I’m sorry, this area scares me even today from what happened. I thought you left town or something.” He wipes his eyes and I realize he was sleeping. He must have been waiting awhile.

“I did actually, but now I’m back.” I laugh as I open the door for him and invite him in. “Make yourself comfortable and help yourself to the kitchen, I have to freshen up.” I ascend the spiral staircase to my room to shower and change. I’ve never trusted anyone alone in my house before, but I trust Brian for some reason. He’s tied to me and I to him. I feel almost like I owe him something. I should have been able to protect him. I should have tried to find him after that night, but I thought he was simply dead.

I search my closets and decide on a simple pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Even in these, I look amazing, I’m not shy to say.

“Well, a vampire in jeans, what do you know.” Brian is laughing as I come down the steps with my jeans and sneakers. This is the first time he’s come out and actually said the word “vampire” and he notices it too as his face suddenly gets a little darker. We had almost forgotten that I’m a vampire and he’s a man.

“I like to be comfortable, just like any gal.” I try to keep the mood light and it works as a smile is forming on Brian’s face. “That vampire who threatened you won’t be bothering you again.” I give him an obviously dark look and he gets it. He nods his head, but doesn’t say anything.

“I have come across a few of you since her and mostly I’ve felt like nothing but food, but you have made me feel like a person. Are some of you more human than others?” Brian asks.

“I don’t know about more “human” per se. But some of us who are a little older don’t get as drunk on the blood as the young ones so we can interact with humans with much more restraint.” He begins to walk towards me and I’m feeling warm all over as he approaches. The vampire’s blood rushing to my face.

“So, it takes restraint for you to be around me?” He is very close now, almost right in front of me.

I collect myself and speak. “…yes. Actually it does. I’ve always had a hard time being around such beautiful men without getting hungry.” I smile at him and hope he takes my compliment the right way.

He smiles back and walks a little closer. “I find you very beautiful, Ariana. And not just because you’re a vampire. You’re a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul. I can see into it and I see wonderful things and also dark things, but still beautiful.” He’s right in front of me now, bending down toward my face. I’m scared because I don’t want to hurt him and I certainly don’t want to be feeling this lust I’m feeling towards him. But, the lust takes over and I reach up to kiss him. His lips are soft and he kisses sensuously, almost like a woman. There’s no frenzied passion in him, just this sensuousness. As I feel his tongue enter my mouth, I feel his hands come up to my neck and face, caressing my skin gently. He doesn’t shy away from my teeth, but rubs his tongue around them. He pushes his tongue against one and I feel a small trickle of blood go down my throat. With this, I wrap my arms around him and feel his hard muscular body under my fingers. I feel like a woman for the first time in two decades.

I begin to pull his shirt up and his hands begin to move down my body towards my breasts and waist. Under his shirt, he has a tight lean body that reminds me of a surfer, something I’ve always had a thing for. I rub my hands against his bare chest and begin to kiss his chest and stomach. Slowly, I descend to his pants and rip them open with my teeth. I hear him moaning and feel his hands begin to pull my t-shirt off. My lust is peaking as I pull his pants down and he puts his hand between my legs over my pants. He’s fumbling for my jeans button and rips it open before shoving his hand down there towards my wet cleft. His fingers feel like serpents as he touches me in ways I’ve never felt before. In minutes, we’re both naked and I pull him down to the carpeted floor beneath us. We make slow, sensual love for hours. I experience him in a way I’ve never experienced a man before, even when I was human. When he finally climaxes, he shoves his tongue in my mouth and is holding on so tight, if I was human he would probably have suffocated me.

I grab a blanket from the couch and lay down against the carpet next to him. We hold each other and he kisses my forehead as he slowly calms down from his orgasm. We lay there and talk until early morning. I am unusually honest with him and tell him I’ve never made love as a vampire..didn’t even know if it was possible. He laughs and says he’s never made love with a vampire. By this point, most men would have been so enchanted that they would have asked to be made into a vampire, but Brian isn’t ready to ask, and I’m not ready to give. Although, I know if he did ask, I would freely give it to him even if it just meant he could share eternity with me.

I’m frightened at the thought of Brian. I feel like I am becoming human. Something I’ve been running away from for years. I love being a vampire. I love the power and the possibilities, but have I really been happy? I’ve been going through the motions, living an eccentric life feeding off of the beauty of the world. I think I’ve held some animosity towards humans because I have resented them. I resented their normalcy to a certain extent I guess.  But now, Brian has made me realize I can feel that way again. I don’t have to allow myself to turn into nothing more than an animal.

Brian leaves to let me rest as it is day and I’m weakened. Clara comes by the house to see if anything is wrong since I have not called for her in a few days.

“Nothing is wrong, I just sort of met someone…” Clara looks at me shocked.

“What do you mean, you met someone? You’re a vampire! Vampires don’t date!” Clara responds.

“And why not? I’m a vampire, as you’ve said. I can do anything I want!” I’m getting a little testy at her and she narrows her eyes at me suspiciously. She fears she’s being usurped. She’s waited years for the gift and now that I am no longer going to need her services, I think its time to satisfy her and get rid of her.

“Clara, I think its time we parted company. I will give you what you want, but I’m done with being a bloated parasite feeding off of this city’s young men.” A smile spreads across her face and she’s forgotten her suspicions of whatever has happened to change me so profoundly.

I wrap my long fingers around the back of her neck as I do all my victims and pull her close. When I sink my teeth in, she gasps at the pain mixed with pleasure. I can make it feel so good for them, or I can make it excruciating. When she is sufficiently drained, I lay her down on the couch and open a vein in my wrist for her. The red droplets look like gems as they fall into her mouth and at the first taste, she grabs my arm and begins to suckle loudly.

She suckles until I pull away and she falls down back on the couch. I watch her change as she lays there in front of me. Slowly, her skin lightens to perfection. She stares up as if she’s merely a corpse lying there and I see her eyes begin to brighten to a light amber brown. She’s beautiful.

“Clara, you’ll want to feed tonight, to keep you strong. My blood isn’t ancient, so you’ll have to work for your strength. I implore you to feed on evil-doers, but I know you probably won’t. You’ve had too much practice leading innocent young men to their deaths.” Clara smiles at me and she looks almost like a marble statue staring intently at me. The next thing I know, she bolts out of the house and leaves behind an echoing laughter that chills me.

Finally, I go to rest. I lie down and feel the satin sheets underneath of me. My senses are weakened by the loss of blood. Clara isn’t the first vampire I’ve made and I’m sure she isn’t the last. I think about the others and wonder how they’re doing. If they’ve been careless and ended up dead or if they’re like I was: merely a parasite on some unsuspecting city.

When I awake, I sense Brian is downstairs waiting for me. I smile despite myself and realize that I might even be falling in love. Nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I didn’t think vampires even could love. This is opening a whole new world for me as I realize I can have the best of both worlds. This excites me as I think of resuming my hunts for evil-doers. That wonderful rush when I kill someone who has caused so much pain and loss to others. As I drain them, I can recount their crimes and although sickened most of the time, I feed off of their fear and rejoice as they realize just how pathetic and weak they really are.

“So, you’ve come back. Back into the lion’s den?” I laugh at him and he smiles. He rises to meet me as I come down the spiral staircase in my white cotton dress. My black hair is tied up in a ribbon and I feel like he’s seeing me as any normal woman. As normal as he can, considering the circumstances anyway.

“You look wonderful. I’m glad you’ve gotten rid of the Elvira thing.” We both laugh and as I look at him, I fear how he’ll react when he learns I have to feed. He still must look at me as a cold blooded killer. As if he’s read my mind, he begins to speak.

“Ariana, I’ve come to say goodbye. I love what happened between us, but I can’t have a vampire for a girlfriend. Any way we look at it, it wouldn’t work.” He frowns at me and I can see how much it pains him to say this.

“Brian, what if you weren’t human?” He looks at me shocked.

“Do you realize what you’re offering me? I couldn’t kill with such indiscrimination. I don’t think I could live knowing all the innocent men you are killing.”

“Actually, I was going to talk to you about that. You’ve opened my eyes. I’ve become an inhuman monster. Part of me is still human and always will be. I can do good while feeding my thirst and increasing my strength. There are plenty of evil men out there who deserve justice. I can give it to them. I’ve lost my taste for innocent blood.” I say

“Do you mean that? How could you have changed overnight?”

“I used to do this, but I lost my sense of humanity somewhere along the way. You’ve changed that. You treated me as a human woman last night and it killed the monster inside of me.” He stares in disbelief before a smile creeps across his face. He stands in place looking at me for a few minutes. I stare back at him and take him in. He looks so utterly human and fragile. He’s wearing wonderfully comfortable looking jeans that fit nicely and a tank top with the name of some clothing company on the front. His black hair is uncombed, but beautiful against his cheeks and some strands are hanging in his eyes. Oh, what a beautiful vampire he would make.

“Can I think about it?” He says finally. But he’s smiling at me and I know that smile, its one of excitement at the prospect of being a vampire. Something so new and exotic and mysterious.

“Of course. I have to feed though. I’m weak.” I look at him somewhat shamefully, but he only smiles back at me and kisses my forehead.

“Can I come back later tonight?” He asks

“Sure. Call to me when you’re ready and I’ll come home.” I kiss him gently and run out the door at such a quick pace, he’s basically left holding empty air. He’s shocked at that, but smiles all the same.

I’m walking down an alleyway, listening. I’m in the middle of New York City somewhere, but it’s eerily quiet.

I know I’m being followed. He probably thinks this is his lucky day. Some stupid white girl wandering around in a dark alley. His pace quickens and I soon feel his warmth behind me.

“Hey, honey. You lost?” He asks. I turn around to face him and see a disheveled blond man with rugged features. If he wasn’t so worn out looking, he might actually be handsome. He’s nearly emaciated though and his face is drawn.

“No, this is exactly where I want to be.” I answer. He starts to laugh and comes closer. He grabs me by the arm and pushes me against the wall with what looks like a rather dull pocket knife against my throat.

“Well, how ‘bout I give you what I know you want, honey?” His voice cracks like he’s a teenager and I almost feel sorry for him. He starts to pull up my dress and I start to laugh.

“You find this funny bitch?!” He’s obviously shaken, probably thinks I’m a nut of some kind.

“No, I find this funny though..” I spring at him and sink my fangs in. The knife falls to the ground and he gurgles a small scream before his voice is completely cut off when I tear at his throat. This is a messy kill, and there is blood all down the front of me. I hope I get home before Brian. I don’t want him to see me like this.

I drop the alleyway man’s drained body to the ground and leave him there. It looks like someone tore open his throat with a sharp, mean looking instrument, so the police will probably assume its just another drug deal gone bad. There’s also plenty of blood on the ground to avoid suspicion of a bloodless body.

I savor these moments. The thick blood warms me and I feel a glow all about me. I feel myself getting stronger and I close my eyes for a moment to experience the full force of my acute senses. When I open them again, I see someone at the end of the alleyway. She looks like a young girl. If I hadn’t killed this man, she would probably have been his next victim. I pull out his wallet and show it to her before I drop it to the ground along with some hundred dollar bills.

“Get some food, honey.” I can see she struggling to see me in the shadows, but she sees the money well enough and it brings a sweet smile to her face. I’m gone before she can come any closer.

Within minutes, I’m home and Brian isn’t here yet. But, after I go upstairs to clean up in the shower, I hear him at the front door. I can easily send him a mental message to come in and sit down and that’s what I do before jumping into the hot shower to wash off the blood.

I can smell his nervousness even from upstairs and I start to get nervous myself. I hardly know him and yet I don’t want to lose him. I lost everyone I knew when I became a vampire and haven’t been close to anyone since. This is the first time I’ve opened up to someone and I can’t imagine being abandoned again.

“Hello, Brian.” I say, coming down the stairs. He looks up at me and smiles broadly. This lifts a small amount of hope within me…he doesn’t look at me with that guilty “I’m gonna say no” kinda look that I expected.

When I reach the bottom of the stairs, he walks over to me and puts his arms around me. Smelling him like this is driving me insane and I’m glad I just fed or I’d be getting hungry from it. Instead, I just feel safe and comfortable. After a moment, he backs away slowly and leans down to kiss me. My heart feels like its going to burst, this is insane. I’m a vampire! Am I denying my very nature?

He whispers in my ear… “The answer is yes.” Brian lifts his head to look at me and my obvious joy makes him laugh.

“I have nothing in this life to lose. I know no one, I have little family left and I think I’m falling in love with you.” I gasp. I can hardly believe my ears. I feel the sting of tears and close my eyes, afraid to look at him.

“How could you love someone like me?” I’m close to crying and couldn’t feel like a bigger fool.

“Frankly, I don’t know except that I feel this deep sacred connection with you that I’ve never experienced before. I can’t ignore it. I tried, but I just couldn’t.” He’s holding me, his eyes far away. “I feel like I’m home when I’m with you. That is not something I can just deny.”

“This is so strange.” I say. “I’ve never loved a human as a vampire and I can’t believe I feel this way. The smell of you brings me to tears but I don’t feel hunger for you, only the hunger of lust.” I lead him to the couch and begin to unbutton his shirt.

“This won’t hurt a bit.” I smile at him slyly and see no fear in his eyes. Slowly, I sink my fangs in and as I promised him, he feels no pain…only the deepest and most satisfying pleasure as I run my tongue along his neck and lap up his sweet blood. It’s an elixor like no other. It’s drinking pure life.

He sinks to the couch with weakness and looks slightly fearful like this was all a ruse and I’m going to just let him die. But I cut the vein in my neck and let the blood dribble into his mouth. It only takes a moment for him to sit up and attach himself to my throat. We’re locked like that for a moment or two while my strength flows into him. We’re like a silent silouette that, if anyone were looking, is more beautiful than the most passionate of embraces.

He backs away slowly with just a tiny drop falling from his mouth onto my leg. His head is down as he feels his strength growing. His death is fast and he slowly opens his eyes and I see a fierceness there that even most vampires don’t have. I can’t help but find it incredibly sexy.

“Wow.” He manages. He’s feeling the pain of his death, but it rolls off of him like water and I can see the changes to his skin and eyes. Even his lips look redder, especially since he’s just drank so much.

Finally, it’s finished and he raises his head. I’ve never seen such a beautiful vampire.

Unedited you say -- don't change a thing because you did a decent job writing this one. I've been at the horror genre for 14 years and will say you do have a talent for writing it. I hope you take a darker turn with your style because you show a talent that will stand for a long time to come. Just don't let some of the established writers out there corrupt it.
