Dear Kendra Williams and Family~
I am so happy for you guys; congratulations on the safe arrival of little Hope into your beautiful family! I share in your joy and excitement, and I pray that God blesses her (and the rest of you) beyond your wildest expectations! She seems to be a beautiful little girl from the picture you sent; she looks like an angel!
I am sure that little Hope is overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of her new surroundings; and I am sure she is feeling scared, but that will go away in time, and it shouldn't be long before she assimilates herself as a regular part of your family and her true personality starts to emerge! You will have to tell me more about Hope the next time you write!
I am well; my wife is due to come home from the hospital tomorrow; but it will be a while before she can do anything for herself. She will be on a walker and wear a back brace until she is feeling stronger and until her back heals, so we will have to do a lot to help her out, so as to make things less strenuous for her. I am so glad Louie is coming home tomorrow; it seems that the house isn't the same without her presence! I am so glad that Louie came through the surgery without any problems; and I pray that she continues to recover without incident! The kids have been busy cleaning their rooms and the house in general, and they have done a super job; the house is spotless and sparkling, and I am sure that Louie will be glad to come to a clean house (for once! LOL)~ Thank you for all the prayers; they sure did come in handy! Louie thanks you too, and she is lucky to have y'all as her friend (as I am)!
We were going to go to Billy Bob's Texas in Fort Worth, Texas, but then my wife started having problems with her back (and her walking), and she then had her surgery; and so that cancelled our original plans. We were supposed to have seen Loretta Lynn at Billy Bob's Texas on the 26th of February (this past Saturday night), but then we heard in the paper that she was sick and had to cancel; I pray it is nothing serious. She sure had had a lot of problems lately with her health lately, hasn't she? So we remained here at home, in Nashville, and I have seemed to spent it at the hospital a lot of that time. Maybe next time Loretta returns to Billy Bob's, we can go to Texas and see her. I hope so; we really enjoy her concerts! We last saw her at Billy Bob's Texas just last year (2004), and she put on an enjoyable show!
Have you seen anybody in concert? We have seen a lot of people; Ronee' wrote in her journal yesterday and listed a portion of the people we have seen in person. We have seen Loretta Lynn numerous times, and we have seen people like Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Celine Dion, Itzhak Perlman, Shania Twain (I really wasn't that impressed with her), Dolly Parton, and Alan Jackson, to name a few. We have been going to concerts ever since Johnny and Ronee' were little bitty, and we still enjoy going to concerts now. We are lucky to live in a part of the country where concerts of all types are commonplace; and we really enjoy ourselves, as do the kids. It's a great way to get out of the house and do something fun as a family, and it is exciting to see some of the best and biggest stars in music today, as well as the new kids on the block. It is especially exciting to meet the singers in person; we have met some of the nicest people in Loretta Lynn, Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire, Celine Dion, and Garth Brooks, and we have even had our pictures taken with them. It is nice to know that there are big-name stars who really DO care for their fans, and they always treat us like friends, which we really appreciate!
How is the weather there in California? Here it is clearing up; we had rain for part of the weekend, but it seems to have ended, thank goodness! We enjoyed seeing you and the Cohens (and also the Masons) at the studio, and it really meant a lot to Ronee'. She was scared to death prior to going on; but she pulled herself together, and she sparkled! It is just too bad she didn't win, but third place out of seventh is quite respectable, and she really did a super job! She had fun meeting the host, the judges, and the other competitors, and she showed herself to be gracious, even in the midst of defeat, and I was really proud of her! She is learning to be accepting even in defeat, and she takes her cues from Loretta Lynn; and it is obvious that Loretta Lynn has been a positive influence on our young daughter! We also enjoyed going to the Hard Rock Cafe', and also to Disneyland; we will never forget our "California Adventure" as long as we live! Thank you for being a gracious host and putting up with Ronee' and myself; we only hope that we can be as gracious of hosts to you when you come here to Nashville! You are more than welcome to come to Tennessee; we will gladly make room for y'all! :)
Well, Kendra, I will go now; the phone is ringing. Hope it isn't another durn telemarketer; they drive me flat out CRAZY! Maybe it is even Louie; I hope so! I miss her voice, and I miss her being here! Take care, and God bless you all mightily! And give little Hopie a hug from us here in Tennessee!
