Dear Louie~
Hi! Thanks so much for writing back to me so quickly! It is so wonderful to hear from you again; and it is so nice to know that you are recovering from your recent back surgery! I am sorry you are still in some pain, but it sounds like you are getting around quite well (even with the cumbersome back brace and the walker); good for you! I have been praying for you, and so has Michael; and it appears that our prayers have been answered, thank goodness! :)
I am doing as well as can be expected, but writing letters takes so darned long when one has one good working paw! LOL Still, I try to do it because I enjoy writing letters, especially if they are from you. I LOVE writing to you and letting me know what is up in your world! Glad to know that your beautiful children are doing well, and glad to know that they are being a big help to you now as you recover from your surgery! Michael is well too; but he isn't here now: he has gone to the store, we are out of some things, and we may have some snow by morning time tomorrow. We saw some really spectacular auroral displays here last night: some of the brightest and best auroral viewing in some time, you could see them, even with the glare of the city lights, and we can only imagine what they must have looked like once you got out of the city of Anchorage. Must have really been awesome out in the boonies, as they say! :) Sounds like the weather has been quite finicky there; hope it straightens out soon! Which is one reason why I like Alaska: the weather CAN get cold, but we don't have very many in the way of thunderstorms here (they are very rare here), and we have never seen a tornado..at least I haven't! Don't think I would want to, either! YIKES! They look scary just seeing them on TV! I can't imagine what tornadoes must be like in real life! YIKES! (But then I wouldn't hear the darn siren ANYWAY if it went off, thanks to my being deaf; I'd be in a world of hurt because by the time I saw the thing, it would more than likely be "'Bye, 'bye, Jenna! Nice knowing ya!" LOL)
I am so happy to hear that Johnny is coming to Alaska within the month! That is great news! I bet Sikik (and Johnny, too!) is excited! You are so right: it will be a cultural and learning experience for Johnny, but I don't know what he will feel about eating blubber; to us, that is a delicacy, and we Inuit love it! But that is okay; if he doesn't like it, he doesn't have to eat it, and I will tell Sikik this before he gets there! I am also sure that Sikik is looking forward to meeting Barbara, she is a very nice girl! A little on the rough side, perhaps (she plays FOOTBALL, for goodness' sake!), but she is turning into a lovely lady! I am sure Sikik will love Barbara almost as much as I!
I was also happy to learn that Ronee' did as well as she did on "America's Most Talented Kids". Third place out of seven kids, eh?? That is GREAT news! I am sure Ronee' practiced her little butt off, and I am sure that the people enjoyed watching her and listening to her sing! She is quite the consummate little entertainer, and I am sure that she is maturing as she grows older! I just wish I could hear her sing; I bet she sings like an angel! Tell Ronee' hello from me, okay? And also tell Johnny the same; also tell him that the next time he comes to Alaska, he'd BETTER come see Michael and me here in Anchorage, or we will be MAD! (NOT really, but we WOULD love to have him stay with us; he'd be more than welcome to!)
Louie, do tell me this: are you still writing? Have you been working on any more forthcoming books? Has your latest book been published, or are you still playing the waiting game? I would love to write a book myself, but I am so dumb, and I am horrible at spelling and punctuation! (The reason why you don't see any errors in this said letter is because we have SpellCheck on our computer; I CHEAT! LOL) But if we DIDN'T have SpellCheck on here, you would think that it was a little KID writing this letter instead of a grown woman approaching middle-age! LOL I was always getting BAD grades in writing, spelling, and in English! I hope you become a best selling author; you'd be good at it! I love how you write: your writings so far have been flawless, and you make your letters look so...uh..professional! I especially love it when you put pictures in your letters; but I have noticed that when you wrote to me just yesterday, you didn't put any pictures up. Why?? I hope you're not having any problems with your computer! Oh, well, maybe the problem will right itself soon; I hope so!
Well, I will write more later; my arm feels like it is about to fall off! I have typed an EPIC here; my fingers and wrist are SORE as a boil, and I have to rest them! Thank you again for writing; it is always such a joy to read your chatty epic letters, and I get a kick out of hearing from you again!
