Dear Journal~
I am sorry if I haven't written in here in so long, but I have either been busy with school, with family situations, or have been sick on and off. I have chronic sinusitis, and it is miserable not being able to breathe well or having to constantly try to blow my blocked nose, or else it runs like a faucet, and I can never have enough Kleenex. I am very prone to sinus infections, and nothing--shots, antibiotics, or whatnot, have not done much good. I may eventually end up having to go to the hospital one day soon if this keeps up. I may end up having to have surgery to unblock my sinuses for good; that is how bad it is getting.
My sister, Ronee', also has a sinus infection, and she and I have been in bed a good portion of the day. She is still in bed, snoring her little happy butt off, and I am here, trying to wait for my latest dosage of sinus medication to take effect, so I can breathe and then try to blow my nose. She does have sinus problems herself, what with her allergies, but they aren't nearly as bad as they used to be (she is getting better in that aspect, as is her asthma and general allergies; she is now allergic to just a few things when she used to be allergic to just about everything under the sun!), but nothing to the extent that I have.
I have had to deal with this stuff since I was six years old, and it seemed that since the deaths of my mother and father, it has only steadily gotten worse, and I am getting desperate for some relief: a bomb, Drano, having the doctors cut my nose off, ANYTHING!! My eyes are always red or swollen or runny, and my nose is either blocked up tighter than a drum, or running like Niagara Falls. I am always having to go to and from the doctor's, and frankly, I am getting sick of doctors, pills, tests, exams, and the whole nine yards!
Oh, to be able to smell food cooking, or flowers in the yard, or the tangy, sweet smell of a good, old-fashioned barbeque/family picnic! No, instead I hardly smell anything but the gunk in my nose, and I am always hacking and gacking, and it is downright GROSS and disGUSTing! And my head feels like I am getting whammed over and over again with my sister's stupid sticks, and I am afraid that if I sneeze, my head is going to pop right off my body; so I have been scared to sneeze. I feel like I have to sneeze, and I am afraid that if I do, I will have a bloody nose or my head will fall off!
I am going to lie down again; I feel too horrible! Bye!~
Gesundheit. My sympathies to Barbara. I got a nasty cold about 3 years ago and still am struggling with the effects on my sinuses. Doctors are as sympathetic as a Sherman tank.
I had my sinuses lanced when I got back from WW11 a procedure that was so risky for infection to set in, that it was stopped. But thank God I was sinus free for over 10 years. I hope she feels better soon. Splendid write, Now how about a write where nobody is sick but just have marital problems.
It's about time for both Barbara and Ronee to get rid of those nasty nasty sinus infections - I sometimes get them myself - and they truly are the pits. Hope they both feel better soon.

Oh boy do I know this feeling and I agree that I got tired of doctors and tests and more doctors and tests and pills that did not work. Found my own cures but I agree it is a bitch.
