Ronee', home from school where she is recovering from a sinus infection, is feeling much better; and she decided to write some more in her journal.

Friday, the 18th of March, 2005, 10:34 a.m., C.S.T.~
Dear Journal~
I know I just wrote in here the other day, but I am bored, so I decided to write some more in here. I am feeling much better; my nose and my head aren't nearly as stuffed, nor do they hurt me nearly as much, and I am able to breathe easier, and I am able to taste and smell again. I am still on my sinus pills, and they are doing the trick; and I am able to blow my nose without my head feeling like it is going to pop right off my body! LOL
But maman made me stay home from school anyway; she wants to make sure that I am over this crud, and I won't be able to go to school until next Tuesday, for Monday starts our Easter Break for a week. So I will have ample time to write in here, and I will have ample time to play and do whatever I want (as long as it doesn't displease maman or daddy, anyway! LOL). Barbie, my sister, is home too, and she is still feeling pretty bad, so I am typing this in the family room, so I don't bother Barbie with my typing.
I am getting excited about the upcoming Easter Cantata at our church, Christ Community Assembly of God. I will be in it (I am one of the people who gets to sing one of the special songs especially selected for the Cantata), and it is always a joy to partake in something that brings home the TRUE meaning of Easter: the Ressurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! I also get to dress up nicely, and I will look pretty; and I love to look pretty! The church is always crowded for Easter, and afterwards, we all go out to eat at one of the local eateries, be it the Golden Corral, the Cotton Patch Cafe', Olive Garden, Shoney's, Denny's, or whatever. Somehow things always seem to taste better after being in a Cantata or in a special program!
Friday we will have Good Friday services, and on Thursday, the day before, we will have "Maunday Thursday", where we will have holy communion (it's a community event; anyone is invited to come and partake in it), and Pastor Bilkey will speak about the Death of Christ, and Friday we will have a reenactment of the Crucifixion and a candlelight service and prayer vigil; and Saturday night is our Cantata, as is also Easter Sunday. We will only have one service on Sunday, instead of our normal two, and afterwards, the families can spend Easter together and have Easter Egg Hunts, eat Easter treats, and so forth. But until then, our focus will be on the Death and the Ressurrection of Jesus Christ, which is what the holiday really is about! Easter has always been one of my very favorite holidays, and since I became saved at the age of seven, it has really taken on a whole new meaning for me.
Rebekkah Cohen, my friend in Sacramento, California, is getting better too. She was recently in the hospital because she had an infection, and she got very sick; but she is now on the mend, and she feels a lot more like herself. It's just too bad she had to miss her dance in San Francisco (she had been selected to dance in "Swan Lake"), because she was really looking forward to it. Now she will have to wait until next year. She has this weird disability called pain insensitivity disorder, which causes her to unable to feel pain, and she says it is annoying, and she would give anything to feel pain like a normal person. Well, I have news for her: at times I wish I had HER disorder because having systemic-onset juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is the PITS, especially if I happen to be flaring! OW! LOL I wouldn't wish this on ANYONE!! But it's been a while since I last had a flare, so as long as my arthritis behaves itself, well, I then don't have to worry now, do I?? LOL
Yesterday, our school had their St. Patrick's Day party, but since I was absent, natch, I didn't get to go to it. I was so mad because I missed out on shamrock sugar cookies, green punch, and corned beef and cabbage, but maman made some for supper, and that kinda' made up for it. I also wore my kelly-green sweatshirt with the "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" saying on the front (I AM part Irish, you know!), and I got to listen to Celtic music and watch "Riverdance", so it made up for my missing the St. Patrick's Day party at school. It turned out to be a very good day, even with my being sick and all.
Barbara is still feeling pretty cruddy; maman took her to the doctor's yesterday, and he gave her some shots and some antibiotics, and ever since, she's been in bed, sleeping her life away. She had a rotten birthday, and she still feels yucko. I hope she feels better soon; she really has had a time of it with her chronic sinus problems! There's nothing worse then being sick on your birthday! (Been there, done that, even have the tee-shirt! NOT fun!!)
Well, I am going to see if I can have a corned beef and cabbage sandwich; I am getting hungry all of a sudden, and I want to make sure it is okay with daddy first before I make it. I will write more again soon; until then, this is your (recovering) friend, Ronee', signing off! C ya!
