The Taming of the Dragon
He was a boisterous large male figure of seven feet tall that over shadowed the little princess of only four feet ten inches. His demands shook the walls of their house as he bellowed out his every need. The little princess would skimper and would fetch the big guys’ meals and wash his clothes. She did the chores she was ordered to do, but he continued his grumpy attitude, "Grrrrrrrrr!" bellowed the big guy. Others would always wonder how the princess could put up with all the mental abuse and yet still be happy and smiling most of the time, or singing her out of tune songs. She had a plan that's why! Princess called the big grump Master D (could be for dummy or dragon). He just called her princess.
Months had gone by with not a thing changed by either’s' attitude. Princess received the mental abuse and Master D continued to hash it out. Of course Master D had started to wonder if something really wasn't wrong since the princess never yelled back… never would she cry about what her duties were, nor did she complain to neither him nor anyone. She would just do what she had to do and sang her out of tune songs. "Hmm Do DA, tra lallallaal, hmmhmmmmammamam." Master D would shake is head since the singing was so out of tune, but he never reprimanded her about her singing. Why....it did not interfere with his needs.
After about six months of the strange happenings in this house hold, Master D was his usual grumpy self and thrashing out his demands. Princess called him to the kitchen...
"Come here Master D! Please!"
Master D appeared in the kitchen door way and watched as the Princess dragged a heavy kitchen chair to the middle of the room.
"What are you doing?" Master D inquired.
"Just get your body over here Master!" the Princess matter-of- factly stated as she climbed on to the chair… "Come here Master!"
Master D walked closer to her and stood there, wondering what was she about to do. Princess stood on the chair with her arms crossed, a postural state that she was never witnessed in. As soon as Master D got close enough to her small stature poached up on that chair she punched him in the head as hard as she could! Master stepped back a few steps and looked startled at first, then began to laugh. Princess had covered her ears so she wouldn't have to hear his crumbling. Master took her hands off her ears and smiled a very large smile...one that brightened the room. "I am so proud of you for standing up for yourself Princess!" Since that day Master D sang out of tune and Princess had her meals made for her on certain days.
