Louisiana finally answers her friend in Alaska, Jenna Aurora Doucet, who wrote to her a week ago.

Dear Jenna Aurora~
Hello there! I am so sorry I haven't written to you until now, but I have been busy, what with working (part time, still am on a part time schedule until my back heals some more), raising my zoo LOL, and trying to get letters answered. I am so far behind now it isn't funny! I have yet to answer letters from friends in Alaska (besides YOU, of course! LOL), Florida, Louisiana, Idaho, Arizona, Texas, and Ohio; and I just mailed off letters to Texas (another friend) and Sri Lanka (my future adoptive daughter, Rani Kalpana, who will be here BY next weekend; I am sooo excited it isn't funny! My lawyers, the Houstons, just called me to tell me the good news that both Arjun and Rani's adoptions have been finalized, and they have been given the "all-clear" to come to America! Soon they will be OURS. OURS! OUR children!! I am sooo happy now it is all I can do to keep from crying! Oh, God be thanked! GLORY!). I am sorry for getting so carried away, but I am so thrilled to know that our new children to be from Sri Lanka will soon be here, in OUR home, in OUR hearts, in OUR nation!! It is almost like waiting for a new baby! (And in a way we ARE because one of the children IS a baby!! It is going to be soo fun having a baby around the house again!!)
I was sorry to hear that you and Michael were both down with the stomach flu; here's hoping the two of you are feeling MUCH better soon! But I AM glad you are both on the mend! I am feeling quite well, but I still have a few weeks to go with this darned ol' back brace and the cane; I will be soooo happy when they are GONE! I haven't had but very little in the way of pain, and it is sooo nice not to have the sciatic pain running down both legs! That I think is sheer bliss!
How are the auroras coming along, and has it warmed up any there in Anchorage? Here it is sunny and mild, temps in the 50's to low 60's, but we may have rain before Easter is overwith and done. Which means the early Easter service we won't have to worry about rain, but the evening one we will, so we will have to have our umbrellas and our rain gear handy when we go to church for evening services! We will be at church all weekend: tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday, as it is nearly Cantata time, and we must be ready and make sure that everything goes without a hitch! My daughter, Ronee', is in the Cantata, but I don't know if she will make it: she is flaring big time, but she is bound and determined to stick it out dsspite feeling bad, and she really wants to participate, so I am not stopping her. But I think she would be better to cancel her appearance altogether; she isn't feeling well, and she shouldn't try to do something when she is sick! (Sounds like someone I know, someone whose initials are Jenna Aurora Doucet! LOL SORry, couldn't resist! :) )
What are you and Michael doing for Easter? We are having our church cantata as I just mentioned above, and we are also going out to eat at the wild and woolly Golden Corral after the later morning service. Then we will return back TO church and get ready for the evening service, and then we will have a "dinner-on-the-grounds" and Easter-themed festivities for the kids and adults who come. Should be a fun time to be had by all! (Since they are calling for rain, the Easter egg hunt will be held in the sanctuary after the service/Cantata has ended. This should prove to be interesting...LOL)
Then, after church is overwith, we will spend the remainder of the week getting ready for Arjun and Rani's arrival; and we will be getting them either on Friday or Saturday of next week. Then we will take our Sri Lankan Miracle Children to church so they can meet our pastors and the congregation and celebrate our good news! We are getting excited about Arjun and Rani's arrival into our family! This is a dream come true , and already we have accepted them into our hearts and home, even though they aren't with us just yet on the physical sense. I will also have to have our Sri Lankan friends from church come over, to translate for the children, in case their English isn't that good.
Johnny and Bill are well, and Barbara is just about over her latest sinus infection; but she may end up having to have sinus surgery soon. Her sinuses are a wreck, and if something isn't done soon, she could have some serious problems later in life. So we will have to decide when she is going to have this surgery done; hopefully, this will bring an end to her sinus miseries, and hopefully, this will open up a whole new lease on life for her! She has really suffered with her sinuses! I will tell Bill and Johnny that you say hello, okay??
I haven't heard from Sikik OR Sari yet, but give them time: I am sure one (or both) will write me anytime. I have been wondering about them myself, hope they are okay!
We plan on going on a cruise sometime next year (ALL of us) to Alaska, but we would also like to go to Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen in Mexico; we had friends who recently went there on a cruise, and they had a wonderful time. Cruises are fun, but I am sorry you don't enjoy them! Not all people like cruises, and cruising isn't for everybody. But we have enjoyed the one we went on last year to Alaska, and we would love to go on another one soon!
We are going to Greece, in May, for Nikolas and Sari's wedding, meaning Bill and myself (the kids aren't going; they are staying home, much to their chagrin). But it will be a nice break for us, and besides, we will see things and places we have never seen before, so we are really looking forward to it! I am also looking forward to chowing down on all that wonderfully tasty Greek food, yummm! :)
Well, sweet Jenna, I hope this answers any questions you may have had in your letter. Now you know what is up in our part of the world, and I pray and hope that all is well on your end!
