Dear Sari~
I am so sorry to learn of your physical troubles; God be with you during this scary and uncertain time in your life! You will most certainly be in my prayers, Sari!
I am doing better; each day I have less and less pain, and it is easier for me to get around; yet, I still have to wear this back brace until the doctor says I no longer need it, and I still have to use the cane for walking. But I no longer have the sciatic pain running down my legs or in my lower back, and it has been heavenly! I am still working part time, but I look to return to my normal, full-time schedule by the start of summer. I hope this finds you having a better day today!
The weather has warmed up some, the trees are starting to bud, and the grass is starting to green up nicely. We should be cutting our lawn for the very first time this year in a week or so, I feel. We did have some nasty weather roll through Easter weekend, and we had some last night, but I am happy to say we escaped the worst of the damage (we only lost a few shingles and some tree branches; it was worse the further east you went). Today is partly cloudy out, and they are forecasting sunnier (and drier) weather for the next several days, which means, once the yard dries up somewhat, we can get back to our outdoor activities.
Tomorrow is a big day in our family: we will be going to Nashville International Airport to pick up our two newest Miracle Children from Sri Lanka; they will be arriving sometime tomorrow afternoon, and the house is all ready and sparkly-clean for them. We are beyond excited; we have waited for this day ever since we started the adoption process in getting these two! I first met them in Sri Lanka when I went to help with medical and relief efforts, and it was love at first sight! We are getting a baby boy, Arjun Ravi, who is now a year old, and an older girl, Rani Kalpana, who is five. Both survived the deadly earthquake/tsunami, but Rani was badly injured, and now she has some physical and mental issues that need to be worked out with physical therapy; hopefully, she will fully recover once she has this therapy. They are very cute, the two of them, and we can't wait until we first see them at the airport; this is going to be a huge day of celebration and praising God!
Ronee' did very well on her show. She did not win, but she still placed in the top three, and we are all very proud of her. Johnny is also doing very well; his health hasn't gotten any worse (thank GOD!), but one never knows day to day what will happen in relation to his muscular dystrophy. He is getting ready to go to Alaska next week for a week's vacation (Barbara, his big sister, is going too, they will be staying with my friend, Sikik Eegeesiak, who lives waaaaaaaay north in Barrow, the northernmost point in Alaska..and in the continental U.S., really!...), and you can very well imagine that they are both excited! This will be a learning experience for the two of them, and I am sure that they will have a great time staying with Sikik and her family!
We still have our goat, "Sparkles", and she provides the kids with nourishing milk, and she has turned into a very friendly little goat. She loves to snuggle, and she comes to you whenever her name is called, bleating happily, and she is just too darn cute! She is not like what I expected her to be, and she has proved to be a very pleasant little creature! We also have our other animal friends, and they keep us (and the kids) entertained and happy for hours! I am glad you liked her picture! You will have to send me one of your reindeer; I am sure you have a wonderfully sized herd!
Well, Sari, I will go; I have to go and meet the kids; the first of the buses have pulled up in front of our house, and I have to meet the kids. Oh I enjoyed this very much..and "Goatmilk" hmmmm not very handsome in coffeee...it turns blue to me....unless you use all milk and no water. But anyways...happy to see everyone is doing fine here!!
