Dear Louie in America~
Hai! Miita kuuluu? Kiitos hyvaas!
I was so happy to have heard from you at last; it seems that you have been very busy as of late! I was so happy to learn that your two children from Sri Lanka are due to arrive (they are probably there by now as I write this), and I was especially happy to hear that you are recovering well from surgery! That is wonderful news; you have been in my thoughts and prayers!
But alas: I am not having a good day today. My MS is acting up; can't walk without my crutches today, and I am very shaky and weak. I nearly fell several times today, but Nikky is here, and I am glad he IS. What if I had fallen and nobody had been HERE?? I hate to think of my lying there on the floor for days on days, with nobody to help me up...*Shuddering* I have a pair of crutches like what your husband and some of your children use, and I am still not used to them. I hate them because when I go out in public, people stare at me, and I know they are saying things about me, and I am not used to the comments or the stares! I am also having problems with my fibromyalgia acting up, and it's just not been a good time for me lately. Be praying for me, okay?? Thanks!
I heard from my friend, Ilsa Rekkonen, who lives here in Ivalo, and she is not doing well either. She has breast cancer; she had a mammogram, and they found a "suspicious lump" in her right breast; so she went to the hospital; when they did a biopsy, they found out that she has breast cancer. So she is sick too, and I am having a very hard time dealing with this. The only good thing in my life now is Nikolas Constantinos and our upcoming wedding next month; ai, can you believe it will be NEXT month until you come to Greece for our wedding?? The time is sure coming up quickly, and I am getting nervous!! So little time left, yet we have tons of things to do before we are even CLOSE to ready, and I am turning into a clumbsy, nervous wreck!!
The lights are out in full force again; but this year, they are tinged with sadness, what with the deaths of my mother and father, and now the illness of Ilsa and myself, and I am having a hard time trying to take care of the reindeer and working at university. I may have to quit my job at university because it is too hard for me to work with my MS acting up. I may eventually have to draw disability; that is how bad things are going with my health. I look in the mirror, and I see an old lady: I have aged maybe ten, twenty years, and my hair, once blonde and beautiful, is now turning silvery grey, and my face looks old. I have wrinkles now, and bags underneath my eyes, and I just look so tired and worn out!
I am happy it is warming up there. Here it is warming up too, but the nights are still chilly, and we still have snow on the ground; when it snows now, it doesn't stay for long, but it still is cold enough for it here in the Arctic. I am also happy that your kids are well; please tell them all hello, and give them our love! I miss them all, and I can't wait to meet little Cajun and Rani! I will have to see a picture of them!! I bet they look like ANGELS!!
Well, Louie, I am going to go now; have to use the potty, and I need the help of Nikky. I can't get up too well today; am weaker than a newborn kitten...I HATE having this scourge known as MS!! Please be praying for me; I am not doing well AT all!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your (still sick) Finnish friend, Sari Annike. :( >tears<
