A longtime friend of Louisiana's writes to her from New York City...
Weds., April 13, 2005, 3:12 p.m., E.S.T., D.S.T.~

Dear Louisiana and Family~

You will never guess who this is, but I shall give you some clues. I used to work in the Therapy Department at Nashville Memorial Hospital, and you always said that I reminded you of a giant teddybear...any connections yet?? If not, here's more: I am now married to M'Kaya Mnjama, and now have a son, who is now walking and talking up a storm; and now M'Kaya is pregnant yet again...STILL don't know? Well, ANYWAY, I got to thinking about you guys, and I started getting a little homesick for Nashville, Tennessee, so I decided to write to you to see what is shakin' with y'all.

We are well; little Stefan is growing and talking, and he is really starting to look more like me day after day (but he still has his mamma's smile and pretty eyes)! He is so quick on his little feet, and one can hardly keep up with him; I definitely think he is part cheetah....LOL Mamma M'Kaya is having her good days as well as her bad days with her MS and her phantom pain; she got a new prosthetic leg, and she is getting used to it still, and she is still toddling around on her crutches or using her chair. She is still El Rotundo, and she looks like she is going to have a baby ELEPHANT; she is only four months pregnant now, but she looks more like NINE! LOL Hope she isn't having more than one; GOD, that would be all WE need...LOL

Life here in the Big City is still shakin'; but I still can't get used to the Twin Towers still being gone...it just doesn't look the same, and we don't really enjoy going to Manhattan. We are thinking of maybe moving to somewhere much smaller (or quieter); there is the possibility that I may even move back to Nashville. NYC IS nice, don't get me wrong (my wife loves it here; it is HER city, HER home), but since the Twin Towers fell in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, life here just isn't the same, and people just aren't as friendly as they used to be (not that they were friendly in the FIRST place, mind you...), and nobody trusts anyone anymore. We may move to someplace like Missouri or Arkansas; heard it's might pretty down that way! But I DO miss Nashville, and I miss you guys at NMH!

How is the family doing? Give those little brats of yours LOL hugs and kisses from Franklin and M'Kaya! We sure do miss them; I bet they are really getting big by now! How is that towheaded boy of yours (i.e., Johnny), and how is Ronee'? What is new with them? Is Johnny still having problems with his muscular dystrophy, and is Ronee' still singin' her heart out?? Tell Johnny and Ronee' that we say hi and we may stop in one day and surprise the heck outta' y'all! Man, wouldn't I GIVE to have some of your delicious *CAJUN cookin'* again!! M'Kaya STILL can't cook! LOL She'd burn *WATER* if she had the chance; which is why we have friends cook for us or go out! LOL

Have you heard from M'Buti or Roberto? How are THEY doing? They STILL haven't written to us, and M'Kaya is worried about them! Tell to write or we are gonna' get MAD!!! (NOT really, but we WOULD love to hear from them again!! It's been TOO long!!)

Well, not much is new other than what I wrote, but I wanted to let you know we were still kickin' and I also wanted to share with the good news that M'Kaya is now again with child...Take care, God bless, and WRITE BACK SOON!! (PLEEEASE??? *whining*)

(((HUGZ))) and love, your friends in NYC, Franklin (and M'Kaya) Jefferson (and Stefan and Jefferson-to-be). :)

Karen,

Nice to read about Franklin and M'Kaya again; it's been waaaaaaaaay too long. How do you keep all of them straight in your head? We don't hear from them in a while, and when you do write about them, it's like they never left! LOL Great writing!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :)

LOL at "Jefferson-to-be" :)
