Dear Journal~
Hi! Thought I'd write a quick one today; don't have all that much time before I have to eat supper and then go to church. Tonight, they are having a special guest speaker come to our church, David Ring, who is a pastor here somewhere in Tennessee. He has cerebral palsy, but he has never let it stop him from becoming a pastor or writing several inspirational books. I have seen him once before, and he is really incredible! Such a fine man, and a testiment that "through Christ Jesus, all things ARE possible!" I found out about it last week at church (Wednesday), and I have been stoked about it ever since! And next week, they are having special music; the Kevin Spencer Family from Ohio are coming to minister through song and preaching, and I hear that they are very good. So I have THAT to look forward to as well. And next month, we are having our annual church festival and fair, and that is always a good time. So many things are happening at Christ Community Assembly of God, and I am happy to be a part of it! :)
I wrote to Rebekkah, my Christian Jewish friend in California, and she wrote me back; I will probably email her sometime in the next few days. Tomorrow we FINALLY get to go back to school; we have been out of school for nearly a week because of a power failure, and it's really been a pain. I hate missing school, but at least THIS time I am not behind in my schoolwork! It will be great to see my friends and my teachers again!
In a few weeks, we are going to Louisiana for the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival, and I am scheduled to perform there. I will be singing on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., and I will be following Belton Richard and his "Musical Aces". Belton Richard so happens to be one of my very favorite Cajun musicians/singers, but a lot of my friends look at me funny whenever I mention him. They have never heard of him, and they are like, "WHO????" and look at me with dumbfounded looks upon their faces. But they DO know about Loretta Lynn and the other country stars I like, but when it comes to Cajun music or Cajun performers, the majority of my friends are clueless. Oh, well....LOL ANYWay, I AM looking forward to the Crawfish Festival; I always have such a great time there! And I LOVE piggin' out on crawfish and dancin' to the Cajun music! AAIIIEEE! :D "Laissez les bon temps rouler!!" :D
Also, the week after the Crawfish Festival, maman and daddy are going to GREECE for a week. They are going to a wedding. Our friends, Sari Annike Gustaffssenn and her hubby-to-be, Nikolas Constantinos, are getting married, and they invited maman and daddy to go. LUCKY them!! But I am sure they are looking forward to getting away from us kids and having FUN for once instead of putting up with fifty-two screaming, hungry kids or working all the time at their jobs! This will be wonderful for them both, and I am happy for them; but I wish I could go someplace exotic like GREECE!
Well, I will go now; I will write more later. I will tell you how the David Ring visit to our church went, and I will let you know about the Kevin Spencer family concert, too. So stay tuned for more chatter from me, your rovin' reporter! God bless, and C ya!

Ahhhh...the Crawfish Festival! I sure do miss that & the Texas BBQ too! What an interesting and well-written story, Karen. I'm so glad you responded to my article, because now I've discovered an amazing talent. Keep on writing!
An excellent write--except for you repeated in the first paragraph and the last one about "feeding my face, and take my meds, and then get ready for church." :) Just trying to help! LOL
