Dear Rebekkah~
This will again be short, but I just wanted to let you know that I got your latest email, and as always, I was happy to hear from you again. Thank you for writing!
That is cool that your mom, Naomi, wants to take you and your father to Jerusalem (I can't spell! LOL) to see where Jesus lived; that would be too cool! I wouldn't mind going there myself, but with all this fighting that is going on in that part of the world, I wouldn't want to risk my life. But that is still a good idea; if you DO go, I hope and pray that the warrior angels cover you and your family with their protection! I don't know what I would do if I were to lose you; that'd be too awful to think about!!
That's okay about the surgery; but I am afraid that I have no choice in the matter. It is getting harder for me to walk on my crutches, and my hands are bothering me too, and my fingers are getting all the more crooked; and it is harder for me to do things. I don't like the thought of more surgery, but if I DON'T have anything done, I am going to end up in a wheelchair PERMANENTLY, and I don't like the thought of having to sit down all the time! That'd be a huge pain! And I wouldn't be able to bend my fingers or use my hands or do ANYTHING for myself! Who knows? Maybe once I DO have the surgery, maybe I will walk better than even before, and I won't have so much trouble with my hands and fingers! It's worth a shot, you know??
Last night, we had something cool happen at church: we had a pastor from eastern Tennessee come to speak, and he was really good. His name is David Ring, and he has cerebral palsy. Now, he can walk without ANY help, but he has a limp, and his speech is somewhat affected; but he still preaches very well, and he is serving the Lord in the best way he can. He talked about his childhood and how close he was to his mama and how the kids teased him; and it was enough to make one cry at times. He also talked about when he became saved and how the Lord has worked miracles in his life; and how he became a pastor; and it was very interesting. He is very nice, and he signed the book I'd gotten after he got done talking. I also had my picture taken with him.
Next week, the Kevin Spencer Family from Ohio are coming to our church, and they are quite good. They sing country style gospel music, and the one song, "The Blood Is Still There", is very powerful; when Kevin Spencer sings that song, he really feels the emotion, and he draws the audience right in. I have never seen them in concert, but I HAVE seen them on the Gospel Channel, and I have seen them on TBN and CBN. Now I will get to see them live in concert, and I am really looking forward to it!
And the Sunday after that is Mother's Day, and they are no doubt going to have a special program for all the moms in the congregation (including mine!!); and then we will take her out to eat at the Golden Corral, which we do every Mother's Day. We always enjoy making maman happy, coz when mama's not happy, there ain't NOBODY happy! LOL
I also have the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival and the church festival to look forward to, so if I don't write in a while, you will know why. I will be extremely busy in the coming weeks. I also wanted to tell you that maman and daddy are going to Greece for a wedding, and I hope that they have a safe trip there. They have friends who are getting married, and the husband to be happens to live IN Greece, so that is why they are going. I am sure they will have a marvelous time; but I AM a bit envious! LOL
Well, Rebekkah, I am glad you are doing better. That is terrific! I am too, but then Dr. Hansen HAD to tell me about my hands and hips; talk about a major bummer!! ARRRGGH!! Oh, well...I'll get through it with God's help! He hasn't let me down before, you know??
I will write more later; it's time for me to eat. I also have recess to go to; if I don't stop writing, I am going to miss BOTH lunch and recess, and that would NOT be a good thing! Until later, take care, and God bless!
