Dear Diane~
Hi! Thank you ever so much for writing; it is so good to hear from you again! I am sorry you are still in the hospital, but I am glad that you may be getting out soon. That is terrific news! I am also sorry to hear that you have a tube in your nose; those "nose hoses" are NOT any fun! I have had one, and I don't care to have another one, thankyewvery much...Just don't pull it out; that is all I ask! LOL (I have had more than my share of "tube-pullers" in my career as a nurse, and it seems to be a never-ending battle!)
I am sure your husband and kids are looking forward to you being home, but I hope you can have some extra help. Seems you have your hands full already with you being sick and your husband and kids being disabled; how you do it, I have no clue! LOL (Though I can probably figure out how; seems that I am in that position myself, even though I don't have cancer!)
Sounds like the weather is cooperating there in Texas. Heard that some parts of Texas (Dallas, Fort Worth, that area) had some rough weather yesterday afternoon; even had a few reports of tornadoes around Dallas and Fort Worth. I will have to call my sister in Burleson to see if she and her family made it through the storm okay...We had some last night, too, here in Tennessee, and it was quite interesting, especially when the tornado sirens screamed out their warning; we ended up going to the basement, where we have a safe-room built in; and we waited out the storm until the "all-clear" was given. But not before my son, Johnny, fell: he had a very bad fall when he went to get into his wheelchair--he MISSED the wheelchair and ended up on the floor; he injured his back pretty good, and today he is sore and stiff all over--; and he stayed home from school because he felt so bad. So I know I will be nursing Johnny when I get home. (I just clocked out at work; am writing this quickie email to you before I head on home before the kiddoes do.) But even as the rest of us were scared of the weather, Johnny, our resident "weather freak", was loving every minute of it, especially when the weather radio AND the tornado sirens sounded. He was in his glory; his glory, however, was short-lived when he had his fall, and it scared the living hell out of me when I heard the thud, and went to check in on him, only to find him lying on the floor, a look of intense pain on his little face! I thought he had fractured his back, but he didn't; he just bruised it really good, and he also got his tailbone. So he will be pretty sore for a while!
I know Ronee' will be upset to hear that Johnny fell: she missed the excitement because she was at her physical therapy appointment with Bill (Bill was NOT the one getting the therapy; Ronee' was!); and whenever anything happens to her brother, she is always so devastated. She is also upset because she found out last week that she eventually will have to have surgery on her hips and her hands; her JRA is getting worse, and it is getting harder for her to walk and to use her hands. So she has a lot on her plate as well. She also was in the hospital recently, and she is all over that, but then she found out about the surgery down the road, and she has been somewhat depressed. The only good things for her include the Crawfish Festival next month, the CMA Music Festival in June, and also the possibility of her friend, Rebekkah, or the Williams family from California coming for a visit sometime during the summer. So it is NOT all bad news for Ronee', thank goodness!
Yes, Diane, I have been to Alaska, but only once. Johnny has now been there twice. Ronee', Bill, and Barbara have also been to Alaska, but like me, they have been there only once. Johnny is the champion in that department. Johnny and Barbara went a few weeks back, and they had a wonderful time, but Johnny DID get a little homesick, the poor guy! I would love to go to Alaska again; in fact, speaking OF Alaska, we have already prebooked a cruise for next year (the spring time), and we have been saving for it. Next year, when we go to Alaska on our cruise, the ENTIRE family is going. So this will be very interesting, to say the least! LOL The boat will be wall-to-wall kids! LOL (And it seems that the main majority of them will be MINE! LOL)
Glad the weather is nice there; as I said earlier, today is lovely, but last night it wasn't. Such as life in the springtime...springtime IS storm season, and it seems that it is living up to its image quite well now! Here it has also been cooler than average, and one day last week, we had SNOW FLURRIES during the night; it surprised us! I thought we were DONE with winter, but it seems that winter is gasping for every last breath that she possibly can! LOL
Well, I gotta' run; gotta' get out of here, so I can get home and take care of Johnny before the rest of the herd arrives home from school! I also have to get supper on, and I also have to do some laundry and other household chores. Take care, and God bless! Write when you can, and hope you feel better soon; we are still lifting your name in prayer!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your (tired) Tennessee friend, Louie May. *YAWNING HUGELY* :0 (That's me yawning! LOL)
