Ronee' is upset to learn that her brother, Johnny, fell, and injured his back.
Tuesday, April 26, 2005, 4:18 p.m., C.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

I am so sad today. I found out that my brother, Johnny, fell when he went to get into his wheelchair (he MISSED the chair and ended up on the floor!) and hurt his back. He is still stiff and plenty sore all over (especially his back and his bum), and he didn't go to school today because he is in so much pain. He is lucky he didn't break something; that must have been terrifying to him!!

All of a sudden my own physical problems don't seem so significant. I am facing surgery in the near future on my hands and on my hips, but compared to what Johnny has had to go through, my impending surgeries are NOTHING. I am more worried about Johnny than about my stupid surgeries!

It all happened when storms moved through the area. (You can imagine just how lovely my body felt...NOT!) Of course, all the booming and bamming kept me up all night long, and it didn't help matters when Johnny's weather radio and the tornado sirens did their duet and as a result we had to go to the basement and to our storm shelter, just in case any tornadoes WERE coming. That was when Johnny fell. He heard the alarms sounding off, and he went to get into his chair to take the elevator to the basement, except that he MISSED his chair and wound up on the floor. I missed all the excitement because I was on my way to therapy; but maman told me all about it. (I left just prior to the storms coming; you could see the lightning to the south and west as daddy and I made our way to the hospital, so I could be there for my therapy appointment. But it was looking mighty uuuuuuuuuuuugly out! It really scared me.)

I didn't know a thing about Johnny's fall until I came home from school (plus maman was looking all upset), and when I heard about what had happened, I swear my heart dropped to my toes, and I thought I was going to pass out with fear. It was really awful, and I just hope that Johnny wasn't horribly hurt! I will have to check in on him to make sure that he IS okay; until then, I am going to be mad from worry!

Well, Journal, I will go now. Toodles!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your (worried) friend, Ronee' Le-Anne. :( >tears<

Karen,

How do you keep doing it? As fast as I can review them, you're writing the next great installment--you were sort of my inspiration for my poem today LOL

And how do you keep doing it? Each story you write is entertaining and written from a very compassionate heart--each one is excellent (and this is no exception!).

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
