Dear Louie~
Happy Cinco De Mayo! This is your (Hispanic) friend in Texas; and I wanted to wish you and yours a most happy Cinco De Mayo! I know there are a lot of Hispanics now all over the country, and I also know you have some Latino/Latina children in your family, so it is to them that I wish a happy Cinco De Mayo!
I am home from the hospital as of this writing; I came home last week, but I don't know how long I will be home. I still feel horrid, and I still have this awful tube in my nose, and I am still on liquids. I AM glad to be home among my husband and my kids, but I know it is hard for them to see me like this; and I really feel bad for them. I feel like having cancer is MY fault, and I blame myself for getting sick! So be praying for me!
I am sorry to hear that Johnny broke his tailbone. I hope he is feeling much better; I know that must not be any fun for him, especially since he DOES use a wheelchair! That must be torture for him! Give him a hug from me, okay? Thanks! How is Ronee' doing with HER health? Has she had any more problems with flares? I hope not; that doesn't sound like any fun either! Did you make it to the Crawfish Festival in Louisiana? How did it go? Did you see any famous people singing there, and did you eat a lot of crawfish?
I would go to the Cinco De Mayo Celebration tonight downtown, but I don't think I will. I just feel too horrid, and I don't want the people staring at me. So I am staying home, as is my husband, but my neighbors are taking the children to the festivities; I know they will enjoy the live mariachi and conjunto music, the fireworks, the bands and parades, and especially the food and carnival rides! I wish I could go, but I just got out of the hospital, and I am still pretty weak. I will be home with my husband, so at least I won't be alone!
The weather is hot here, temps in the nineties already. But such as life here in South Texas. Hope the weather is much nicer your way. We did have some storms, but nothing bad, not like they had in the DFW area. They had a few (MINOR) tornadoes that did minor damage, but nothing else, as well as some hail and hail damage; but it could have been a whole lot worse. I am thankful for that, I have a girlfriend, Misty, who lives in Fort Worth, and she is scared of storms. Every time it storms, Misty is wigging out, looking for some type of shelter! She is really bad about that!
Are you going to do anything for Cinco De Mayo? If so, what? Are you making Mexican food tonight? I'd give anything for some sopapillas or chili con carne; but my belly is too messed up from the chemo, and I am so nauseated all the time it isn't a bit funny! Eat some sopapillas or some tacos for me! Or maybe a beef burrito or quesadilla!
Well, I have to use the restroom now, so I have to have my hubby help me. I will write more later; take care! Love you!
