Ronee' answers her friend's letter. She is still bummed about her upcoming surgery, and the stormy weather outside isn't helping her mood any.

Dear Rebekkah~
I am happy to have heard from you; thank you so much for taking the time to write back to me. It was nice to hear from you again.
I am glad you aren't mad at me. I was worried that you were because you wrote to Johnny and not me, and that made me sad. I should have realized that you are busy with dancing and stuff, and I didn't use my head. Please do forgive me.
I am sad because next month, on June 15, I am having hip replacement surgery. My hips are shot, and the arthritis has really done a number on them; as a result, I have been using my wheelchair more, and it is getting harder for me to walk on my crutches without being in severe pain. I am scared; this is the first surgery I have had since having my appendix taken out when I was six (my appendix burst, and I nearly died; I don't remember much about the surgery or those first rocky days, but maman and daddy said that I was in the hospital for nearly a month, and I also spent a long time at home, recovering), and..oh, never mind. I am wrong...I had surgery last year, on my knee, what was I thinking?? I guess my head is too full; I am not thinking straight...
I am sad too because it is stormy, nasty, rainy out, and it's gotten my joints in an uproar. It's really booming and bamming out, and twice already, the lights have flickered and gone out (but came back on shortly thereafter, thank goodness!), and it's really raining buckets out there. I hope it clears up later because I don't want to spend the day inside, but with the way my body is hurting today, I just may end up doing just that!
I am also bummed out because as you know Johnny is facing tests next month, about the same time I have my surgery, and he is uptight about it. He has to have a spinal tap, an MRI, an electroencephalogram (or whatever you call it; it's where they check your brain waves, and it is a killer long test; it's a pain in the rear!!), a myelogram, and a test to check the strength in his muscles (I forget what you call it; but I do know that the initials for this test is EMG; I hear it is very painful because they put fine needles into your muscles, and then they deliver electric shocks to those muscles, to see how they respond, and if the responses are abnormal, something is most definitely wrong), and who knows what else. He has to go to the muscular dystrophy clinic to have those tests, and he will probably be in the hospital there for several days.
I hope things are better where you are at. I hear you are going to Israel to see where Jesus walked. I think that is neat, but I hope you have a safe trip to and from Israel, and I hope you have a wonderful time. When are you going to Israel? I will lift you and your parents up in prayer, and I will have our church pray for you. I wouldn't mind going to Israel myself, but I hear it costs mega bucks, and with all the fighting in that part of the world, I wouldn't want to go until I know the fighting and violence was over!
Speaking of travel, maman and daddy are in Greece; they will be back on Tuesday. They went to a friend's wedding, which is today. My friend Sari is marrying her boyfriend, Nikolas Constantinos, and right now they are living in Athens, Greece. (Sari isn't from Greece; she is from northern Finland; she and Nikolas met at the Olympics last year in Athens, and they worked there at the Olympics.) I hope they are having a good time; but boy, I sure do miss them! The house is so silent without them around, and the animals are acting all lost and sad because they are missing maman and daddy, just like we kids are!
Well, Rebekkah, it's getting more stormier out, so I'd best get off this computer before I get fried. That would NOT be good...Cajun blackened Ronee'. YUMMM! LOL I will write more later if all this crazy boomin' and bammin' quits, and if I don't go outside to play. Take care, and God bless! Keep me (and Johnny) in your prayers, we can both really use 'em! Thanks!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your (sad) friend, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux. :(
It's been raining here since last night but it's a warm and welcome rain. Thank you for sharing these creative stories, Karen. Love and peace to you. Regis
The storms that you are experiencing will pass, as they always do, if we only have enough courage and strength to wait them out, and it truly seems that you have both.
