Dear Louie: Could You Keep Us In Prayer? Please? (Ellen Jones Writes...) by Karen Lynn Vidra, The Texas Tornado

Rated "G" by the Author.
The woman who wrote to Louisiana the other day is facing a life-altering crisis: she and her husband just lost their home in a devastating fire; they barely got out, but they are unharmed. She doesn't know where to turn for help, and she is beside herself.
I got the idea from the incident that happened yesterday afternoon here in Burleson, Texas: the apartment complex directly in front of ours was destroyed by a fire, and eight families were displaced. Thank GOD nobody was hurt or even killed, but the damage is inconceivable, and had the wind been blowing in the opposite direction, the fire could have gotten our place. So it was a very close call.

Dear Louie:
I know I wasn't very nice to you the other day, but I need your prayers. I know that probably sounds funny coming from ME, an athiest, but I am in trouble, serious trouble, and I don't know what to do or which way to turn.
Yesterday, we were awakened from a deep sleep, only to discover smoke and flames billowing from our walls; and it scared the holy hell out of both of us. Wayne and I managed to escape the flames with only the clothes upon our backs; but our house is destroyed, literally leveled. We are now being assisted by the Red Cross, and we will be living in a shelter until something comes up. Both Wayne and myself have been in tears all day, and we are wondering what we could have done differently to prevent such a horrendous tragedy from happening.
I wonder why we are going through this. I wonder if it's because I was so rude to you in my letter to you; and I am thinking that maybe your god is mad at me for being so hateful. I don't really believe, as I mentioned in my last letter, but now I am wondering if I SHOULD believe because I or my husband could have very easily been badly injured--or even KILLED--in the fire, and we got out okay, but we only have the clothes upon our backs. Everything else that we have had over the years has literally gone up in smoke, and both Wayne and myself are in a state of shock and disbelief.
All I can say is this: please keep us both in your prayers; we really could use some major help right about now.
Most sincerely, Ellen Jones in Bartlesville, Indiana (fire victim). :( >tears<
