Ronee' is trying to keep her mind off her brother's impending hospital tests and her upcoming hip replacement surgery, which is next month. She is happier than she has been in days, especially now, since her parents have returned home from Greece.

Dear Journal~
Hi! This is your friend, Ronee' Le-Anne. I am doing okay (still have to have my stupid surgery next month on the 15th, darn it; that is in just under a month; I am NOT looking forward to it, but I have no say in the matter!); not great, but okay. At least I am not dying or in the hospital or anything like that. I also am still worried about Johnny and HIS tests, which he will have at about the same time I have my surgery; so it looks like we will be in the hospital together. Maybe we can keep each other company (as soon as I stop being all loopy-headed from the medications and the anesthetic gas!); maybe we may even end up being roomies! :)
School is about over for another year: our last day is June 4, and I will officially start junior high in the fall. Funny...it seemed like only yesterday when I was a little snot-nosed urchin; now I am turning into a big, hotshot, know-it-all TEENAGER! LOL I will be leaving my elementary days behind and will be embarking on a new adventure in my life; and it is all very exciting (yet, at the same token, I am SCARED TO DEATH!!). I really have come to like my teacher, Mr. Gee, and all my other teachers; they have all been an invaluable help to me, and I really enjoyed learning new and interesting things each and every day!
Soon, Memorial day will be upon us (next weekend, as a matter of fact!), and we will go to the Memorial Day breakfast at the city hall, and we will also go to the veteran's hospital and pass out flowers and snacks for the veterans there; and we will also go to the Memorial Day parade and watch grandpere' Moliere' ride on one of the floats. We will then go to Centennial Park for a day of picnic-style fun, and we will probably go to the special concert the city has planned. There will even be fireworks, and I am looking forward to those; I love fireworks! :)
Also, soon summer will be upon us, but I had best enjoy the first week of summer vacation because I am afraid that I won't play much after my hip replacement surgery. I will be spending a good chunk of my summer recuperating and relearning how to walk. So it will be dullsville for sure! But I am not complaining; who knows? I may walk better than I ever have since having my knee replaced last year! (I wish I could ditch my stupid crutches or my braces on my legs, but I don't see THAT happening any time soon...oh, well...things could be worse, and I am grateful just to BE walking, even if I DO need some assistance!)
I also have the CMA Music Festival to look forward to: I am NOT performing there, but I WILL see a lot of my favorites and the new guns in country music, and it is like a big family reunion; and Loretta Lynn may be there again this year. I hope so; she is always so sweet to me, and I just LOVE her!
Also, I have the Cajun Music Awards Festival to look forward to (that isn't until August; by then, I should be about healed from my hip surgery! And I WILL be singing/playin' my Cajun squeezebox there! :) ), and I always have "un bon temps rouler" there! So there is plenty of action to help me keep my mind occupied, and once my surgery is over, I should be sailin' free once I recuperate!
This may be the last time you hear from me (for a while at least)--until I get stronger and recover more from my surgery next month; so if you don't hear from me, don't worry. I did NOT die (at least I hope I DON'T die!!); it's just I am getting over my surgery, and I will be doing a lot of traveling once I am well enough!~ So until sometime down the road, this is Ronee' saying, "Toodles"!
