Ronee' decides to write in her journal. She has a busy summer to look forward to, and she also has major surgery ahead of her (she is not looking forward to THAT!).

Dear Journal~
Hiiiii!! This is your gal pal, Ronee', writing! I am so happy...tomorrow school ends until September, and I will be on *VACATION*!!! (But I'd best enjoy it while I still can because in just 13 more days, I am having SURGERY!! ICK! I am having my hips done; they are really messed up, and they are causing me grief, so I have no choice in the matter. Wish I did, but I DON'T. *BOO, HISSSS!*)
I had fun at our church festival last month, and I got to see David Ring and the Kevin Spencer Family from Ohio; they came to our church last month, and I got to meet them and have my picture made with them in our church newsletter.
I have been doing okay, but as I said, my hips are toasted, and I have to have them replaced. Which means that I have to be down for six or more weeks and then more therapy afterwards (as if I don't ALREADY have more than enough! ARGGHHH!!)! I am NOT going to enjoy that AT all!
I am a little bummed: my best friend, Nicole, is in the hospital; she had a really bad flare to end all flares, and she is really sick. She isn't in Intensive Care, thank goodness, but she IS still pretty sick. I saw her yesterday at the hospital after school, and she slept most of the time while I was there, and when she WAS awake, she was all loopy-headed, so it wasn't really an enjoyable visit. But I DID get to eat in the hospital cafeteria after I saw Nicole, and I had a hamburger and fries, and that was very good. I also had a Coke and for dessert, lime jello. YUMM~ :) Maybe Nicole will be in a better way today when I see her later on! I hope so!
My brother, Johnny, is having tests done in the hospital at about the same time I have my hip replacement done, so we may end up being roomies. I wouldn't mind that; at least I would have someone to talk to...but Johnny is scared; he has to have an electroencephalogram, or EEG (also called a "brain wave test") (that is always a pain in the rear; I have had them, and they are NOT fun AT all!!), an MRI, a CAT-scan, an EMG (electromyogram; I hear they are quite uncomfortable; they stick needles in the muscles and deliver electric shocks to see how they respond; that doesn't sound like any fun either!!), and a spinal tap as well as an electromyelogram. ICK! Poor kid; I do NOT envy him AT all! I would be scared and upset too, if I were him! (He is having all these tests to see how his muscular dystrophy is doing; the MDA is paying for it, so maman and daddy don't have to worry about paying for all the tests that Johnny has to have.) I hope and pray that he isn't getting any worse!! I don't know what I would do if he was getting worse; I know I'd cry!!
In a few weeks, after I am home from the hospital, I will officially be six months from turning into a TEENAGER! I will then be 12 and a HALF. But there may be no party for us, depending on how Johnny does after his tests and then we get the results, and also depending on how I do after MY hip replacement surgery. So our half birthday plans are on hold for now. (Johnny's birthday is the day AFTER mine; mine is on Christmas, December 25, and Johnny's birthday is on December 26.)
I don't know when I will write in here again, so I figured I'd better before I have my surgery and then afterwards, when I will probably be in a lot of pain and discomfort. But maybe I will walk even BETTER than I ever have, and maybe, just maybe, I can ditch the crutches!! That would be NICE....LOL
Until later, this is Ronee' saying 'Bye for now! God bless!
