Dear Kendra and Girls~
Hey! I have been thinking about you (and also Louisa Mason), and I have been wondering what you have been up to. I hope you (and your daughters) are all well, and I hope that Louisa is doing okay, too. How is her pregnancy progressing? Is she starting to show yet? (I think she is by now.) Does she know anything regarding the gender of the baby? Please let me know as soon as you find out anything! Thanks!
Are your kids out of school yet? How did they do in their studies? I hope they all passed with flying colors!
Our kids just got out of school on Friday, so they are "officially" on summer vacation until the day after Labor Day. So far, they have seen "Madagascar", which was an aDORable movie! On Thursday of this week (my birthday, mind you! :) ), we are going to the CMA Music Festival here in Nashville (formerly known as "Fan Fair") for four days, and I know we are going to have a wonderful time! We didn't go last year because of storm damage to our house that caused us to be "displaced" for a month (we stayed at a homeless shelter) until the damage could be repaired. A durecho (line of severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and lots of heavy rain) came through the Nashville, Tennessee, area, and it got a hold of our roof and managed to knock down one of the walls off the livingroom. There was glass all over the floor, and there was a lot of wind and water damage to the livingroom area. Thankfully nobody was hurt at the time, but we WERE home when the durecho hit, and it was very upsetting, to say the very least!
THEN, on the 15th of this month, Johnny has to have tests done at the hospital (the MDA is paying for the costs of the tests; he is due to have an MRI, a CAT-scan, a myelogram, an electromyogram, and a spinal tap, plus other tests to see how his muscular dystrophy is progressing), and Ronee' is having hip replacement surgery; so I know I will be holed up at the hospital that entire day, so I can be with Johnny and Ronee'. Be praying that Johnny and Ronee' do well; both Johnny and Ronee' are scared! (Ronee' is acting as though she has never had surgery before when she HAS, several times, in fact!)
Well, now...let's see what else I can write about...oh, yeah...Have you heard anything regarding the innement adoption of your Sri Lankan child yet? Our two Sri Lankan children, Arjun and Rani, have since "fit into the family puzzle" and we have delighted in their being with us. They are both learning new words in English every day, and their tummies are settling down, thank goodness. At first, both Arjun and Rani had diarrhea and/or severe nausea and stomach cramps, but they are now learning to tolerate the American fare with very little difficulty. Both Arjun and Rani are adorable, and we are so thankful that they are now a part of our International Family!
How is the weather over there in Soulsbysville? Here we have had a chance of rain every day for the past week or so, and I am more than ready for the sun to return! We haven't had really anything in the way of "SEVERE" storms, thank goodness, but still...I HATE having to drag the kids' rain gear and umbrellas, and making sure that they don't track mud into my house! There is NOTHING worse to me than to have to clean up muddy footprints all over my nicely waxed floor! ARRRGGHHH!!! Send us some sunnier (or drier) weather soon!! PLEASE???...
Well, Kendra, I just wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you, so I wrote. Do write back to me soon, and let me know what is going on in your part of the world! I love to hear from you, and your letters always make me smile!
