Ronee' is at the CMA Music Festival as of this journal entry. She decided to write one more time prior to her surgery, which is next week, and she is quite nervous.

Dear Journal~
Hi! This is your friend, Ronee'! You will never guess where I am at now as I write...I am at the CMA Music Festival, and I have already met some wonderful stars and seen some great concerts! I have been here since yesterday, and I will leave for home on Sunday, sometime in the afternoon. My whole family is with me, and we are all having a wonderful time!
But alas...I am also worried, and so I can't really enjoy myself as much as I would like. See, I am having hip replacement surgery in just five more days (Wednesday of next week), and I am scared TO DEATH!! Hip replacement surgery is major news, and I am hoping (and praying) that everything goes well! I also am worried about my brother, Johnny, who is having some major tests, to see how his muscular dystrophy is doing, and I don't know what I would do if it were bad news! I am also worried about maman: she just found out that her friend in Texas, Diane Aguilar, just died this morning (Diane's husband, Hildago, emailed her), and now she is sitting here, trying her best not to cry in front of us; but I can clearly see the pain and tears in her face. I am also worried about maman's friend, Jenna; she is having some major problems of her own, and she may be thinking of killing herself, which is so unlike Jenna!
So even though I am supPOSED to be having a great time here at Fan Fair (now called the CMA Music Festival), I can't help but worry about maman, Jenna, Hildago and Diane and their family, Johnny, or even my upcoming surgery!
This may be the last time you hear from me prior to my surgery; I don't know WHEN I will pass this way again, but until I do, I will spend my time getting over the surgery, which will be HARD as I can't go outside, and I will be cooped up inside my room for a little while! So until all this is overwith, this is your (terrified) gal pal, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux, saying Sayonara for now! Toodles!

P.S.: One bit of good news, though...we are in the process of adopting a little eight-year-old girl from Romania named Janica Kryzstina; she has spina bifida, and she is soooo cute!! We just found out about this the other day, and maman and daddy have already started the adoption proceedings! So there may be "another little Sandusky" in the near future, if God sees to it! I am hoping and praying that we get Janica!!!! :)

... Being a bit behind the times on your short story front, Karen, this is new ground for me... what an endearing little heroine you have created in Ronee - and what a BIG and brave heart she has! And what tragedy she has already seen in her short life - of which this episode is just a fresh part. She sure does have a shining soul, though, and must shed light and life wherever she goes. May she realise the rich harvest she is sowing and get to partake of its fruit one day! Bless her - and you! I can see that you pour heart and soul into these writes, Karen - it shows. This all makes me think of the scriptures about "treasure in clay jars"... those "jars" that are cracked or broken pour forth their wonderful fragranced oil or candle of light that spreads far and wide into the atmosphere around them.
