Rated "G" by the Author.
Johnny writes some more in his journal. He is still scared about the upcoming tests he has scheduled at the hospital next week. He also writes about the death of a friend of his mother's, summer vacation, and other foibles.

Dear Journal~
Hi! This is your friend, Johnny, writing. I am getting more and more nervous as the days slip on by: in only four more days, on the 15, I have my tests done at the hospital, and Ronee' has her surgery. She is having her hips replaced. She has arthritis really bad, and it wrecked her hips and caused her a lot of trouble with her walking, so she is having this done. It is serious surgery, but I am sure she will get through it just fine. If I know Ronee', she is a tough bird, and nothing really keeps her down for long! She last had surgery (on her knee) last year, and she sailed through it like sixty, nothing wrong with her knee now! :) But then her hips went screwy, and now she is facing surgery again...
ANYWAY, I am having tests done at the hospital because the doctors want to see how my muscular dystrophy is faring. They also want to make sure that my medicines are working. They also want to make sure that my seizures are under control. I am kind of scared about the testing because they will be poking me with needles, and doing painful things on me, and putting me in huge machines that take pictures of my innards, and I never enjoy that! Going to the hospital is scary enough to a kid like myself; and having painful things done to me does little to comfort! I am also scared that they will tell me that my muscular dystrophy is getting worse, and I don't want to hear that I may not be around next year!! I am just a kid, and I would like to live at least a LITTLE longer! I have so much to do yet!!
I am at the CMA Music Festival as I write this: meeting my favorite country stars (and meeting some future country stars), and going to concerts, which have been really enjoyable; it's a splendid way to make me forget of my medical troubles, even if it IS just for a little while! I am having a great time, but I am a little sad because of the tests, Ronee' 's impending hip surgery, and also my mom. Mom is sad because yesterday, one of her email friends in Texas died. She had cancer of the brain, and it spread throughout her body, and it killed her. She was only in her forties, too young to go like she did. I met her last year, in August, and her name was Diane Renee' Aguilar. She and her husband, Hildago, had six kids of their own, all adopted, and all with disabilities. She and Hildago had three girls, and they also had three younger boys. Mom has been in tears ever since she got that first email yesterday from Hildago, and they have been busy emailing each other, back and forth, back and forth. Diane was really nice, and she was really pretty. She will be missed, not only by mom, but our whole entire family! I just feel sorry for Hildago because he can't work because HE is disabled, and I am worried about what may happen to him and the children. I will have to pray extra hard for Hildago....

As you can tell, I am on summer vacation. School ended a week ago yesterday, and we have been having FUN! So far, we have seen the movie, "Madagascar", which was as funny as heck, and now we are at the CMA Music Festival. We don't know what else we might do, but I DO know this: mom and daddy are adopting another child into the family! They are in the process of adopting a little eight-year-old girl from Romania who has spina bifida. Her name is Janica Krystina, and she is so cute! She has short brown hair and green eyes, and she has some freckles on her face. Mom got a picture of Janica, so we know what she looks like. So soon there will be *53* kids in our family! YIKES! (I still say mom and daddy must be CRAZY for adopting all of us....*grins*)
I am happy to say I passed. I am going to be in junior high come fall time. I will be in Grade Seven, and I will be going to Donelson Junior High. I hope and pray I do as well next year as I did this year; this year was, by far, my BEST school year EVER!! I made A's and B's in all my classes, and mom and daddy were so proud of me! (I was proud of me, too!)
Well, I am going to go now; we are going to go to another concert. I don't know who we will see yet, but I know the music will be good; it always is! I will write more later; and hopefully the next time I write I will have good news about my tests, and also about Ronee' and her surgery! Until later, this is your boy pal, Johnny, saying so long for now! see ya!
Karen you must do a lot of reading to keep you so well informed on all the activities, you write about. Besides people in foreign countries, sports, music, etc. You are a whiz!;-)
