Louie writes to her "native sister" in Arizona, who isn't having an easy time of it lately; so she tries to offer her some encouragement.
Thursday, June 16, 2005, almost six o'clock in the evening, C.D.T.~

Dear Wyndi Storm~

O si yo! How are you? I hope this finds you feeling better; your last letter concerned me. I am worried about you, and I am worried about Karla. How is she doing? I pray you and her are both doing better, and I hope your mother is feeling better as well.

I have been well, but I have been at the hospital the last two days: Johnny had some tests (I just talked to the doctor; it was very good news, better than what I had expected...Johnny's muscular dystrophy, believe it or not, is NOT getting any worse!...This is an awesome answer to prayer; GLORY!!), and Ronee' had her hips replaced. Ronee' has severe systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and the arthritis really damaged her hips, to the point to where she was having a lot of difficulty in walking (more than what is usual for her), so she had no choice in the matter; and hopefully, once she recovers and has therapy, she will be getting around a lot better than she has been able to in a long time. Ronee' had her surgery yesterday morning, and she did very well, and I am very pleased. Johnny should be out of the hospital by tomorrow afternoon, and Ronee' should be out sometime next week if all goes according to plan. I will keep you posted on this situation, so stay tuned!~

We are also in the throes of adding another child into the family: an eight-year-old Romanian girl named Janica Kryzstina, who has spina bifida. We have already started the paperwork, and if all goes well, we should have little Janica by Christmas. So we may soon have an incredible *53 children* in our family! I am very excited, as you can imagine! Little Janica is so cute: she has short brown hair and green eyes, and she has freckles sprinkled on her little nose, and she is so adorable! She CAN walk, but with braces and forearm crutches; but for longer trips, she relies on her wheelchair.

Has the weather cooled off any there in Prescott? I hope so; here it has FINALLY stopped raining, and I have been able to putter around in my garden and Bill has been able to mow our field (grass; the grass was unbelievably long! LOL), and now our yard is all tidy and trimmed; and it really looks lovely! It looks like a yard again instead of like a hayfield! LOL I will try to send you some cooler weather, but I can't guarantee anything...let me know if you get any!

I have some very sad news to share: one of my email friends in Texas died last week: she had cancer for several months, brain cancer, and she was just too far gone for doctors to be able to save her. Her funeral was just this past Thursday, and I have been writing to her husband, Hildago; and as you can imagine, Hildago is broken up over his wife's death. Diane Aguilar left behind six little kids, all with disabilities, and I feel for her husband because now he will have to raise them on his own; and he is disabled himself and can't work. I had written to Diane about a year, and last year, during the picnic for AASK families, I got to meet her, Hildago, and the children, and they were a wonderful family. Now Diane is gone home to Glory, and I really feel bad for Hildago and the children!

I also am worried about Jenna Aurora Doucet, my friend in Alaska: she and her husband seperated, and I guess she and Kendra got into it because Kendra called me last week from her home in California, and she and I talked about Jenna and her anger. Apparently, Jenna Aurora wrote a nasty letter to Kendra, and it really hurt her feelings, and she said some rather hurtful things about me. I was hurt, of course, as you can probably imagine, but I have forgiven Jenna, and all I can do for her now is to pray for her. Jenna has a lot of physical problems, and she can't do a lot for herself, and it's really been hard on her on the emotional level. She was in a very bad accident that rendered her a hemiplegic (one arm, one leg), and she can't do a lot without getting seriously tired or frustrated. She is also deaf (she was born that way), but she doesn't like people staring at her, and she doesn't like to "look handicapped". She got married just last year, and lately she and Michael, her husband, have been fighting, and I am wondering if he has returned to her or if she has heard from him. Jenna is a very angry young woman, and I am very concerned about her.

Well, Wyndi, I know this isn't much, but I have to get the kids their supper and then get them ready for bed by nine; I really don't have that much time. YOU try to corral nearly fifty kids for supper and then try to get them in the tub and ready for bed in a period of less than two hours! 'Taint easy, my friend! I will write more later; do write when you can, and may the spirits guide and bless you! I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your Tennessee friend, Louie May Sandusky. :)

Thank you for sharing this letter with this Arizona boy (I was born in Phoenix). I've been pretty lucky lately as I have not lost any friends or family or myself (knock on wood)and everybody is relatively healthy.
