Jenna Aurora Doucet writes a letter of apology to her friend in Tennessee.
Friday, June 17, 2005, Alaska time~

Dear Louisiana~

Hi! This is your (hopefully still) friend, Jenna Aurora, writing. I wanted to write to you so I could apologize for my meanness as of late and my sour attitude. That is so unlike me, and I wonder if I am going crazy.

I am also here to tell you that Michael is back. He came back on Monday, and even though our relationship is still strained at best, at least we are trying to communicate, and we are both willing to start over. I never was so glad to see him walk through the front door; when I saw him, I just cried, I absolutely cried! I thought something terrible had happened, but I am glad to know that he is still safe and well! Thank you for your prayers, and thank you for your encouragement! It is very much appreciated!

I am still having my bad days, but I am now talking (okay, SIGNING) with a counselor, to help me work through my problems, and she suggested that I keep a journal so I can write out my feelings and sort through them and figure out why I have been acting the way I have lately. I think this is a very good idea, but I wonder if I am suffering from depression or something much worse (schitzophrenia, perhaps??)...maybe this will help me. I hope so because I don't like being so scared or so angry all of the time!! I also wonder if it is partly due to the grief that I am still experiencing over the death of my mother, or even my father; I don't know, but I have NOT been a very nice person lately, and I want to say I am very sorry for how I have been lately.

I also have been thinking about going back to school. Maybe I could get a job; I don't know, but I could try. It is better than sitting around the apartment, collecting dust! LOL But I don't think anyone would want to hire a person like me. I am still not able to do a lot for myself, and everything is such a chore! I hate having to depend on other people; it's such a royal pain!!

How are Johnny and Ronee'? How did Ronee' tolerate her surgery, and did you hear anything about the tests that Johnny had? What did they find out? Is his muscular dystrophy getting any worse? I pray and hope not!! Let me know, please! I want to send them both a get well card, to let them know that I am thinking of them! Give them my love, and give them big hugs from me!

How are you doing through all this? I hope you are getting your rest. It seems that you are always on the go, and I worry about you at times! How is Bill? Is he still working at Wal*Mart? Tell him that I say hello too!

Well, your friend, Kendra, and I got into it, and this was what prompted me to write to you. I really said some nasty things about you (not worth repeating here; it wasn't very nice is all I can say), and Kendra jumped down my throat and wrote me a really angry letter. I cried when I read it, and I have felt bad since. So I am writing now, to see if you will accept my pathetic attempt at an apology. If not, I can fully understand, but I am willing to try to mend our friendship. You have been so very good to me when I needed a friend, and you took excellent care of me, too, besides, and here I took advantage of you. That was not right AT all, and now I am paying for my sins. I have found you to be a very caring and compassionate person with a very good heart, and yet I treated you like a stack of garbage. I am so very sorry; I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me.

Well, I am crying again, so I'd best go before I stain this all up with my tears! Take care, and please write back to me; I would really love to hear from you again! I miss you so much!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your (teary) Alaskan friend, Jenna Aurora. :( >tears<

Just keep me in your prayers; that is all I ask...

~Jenna.

You weave these poignant personal details and stories so beautifully, Karen. They all inter-relate so well and yet the pain is almost unbearable. Makes me truly grateful for my very "easy load" in life. You both teach and share, openly and honestly, and in so doing, very graciously and humbly highlight how we ourselves might cope with overbearing issues. Bless you and thank you. Kate xx

Always seek help when you have symptoms that last for more than two weeks or if more serious see a doctor immediately. It's good that she has a friend like you. You explore all the physical problems that people can have in most of your characters. Good write.
