Dear Louisiana (or can I call you "Louie"?)~
Thank you for the very swift response to our letter from the other day. I would have answered it yesterday, but with it being the Fourth of July, Chuck and I were busy getting ready to go to our folks' house, and we were getting our picnic supplies together. We went to my parents' house in Flagstaff, and we had a picnic there, and we also went to the parade and then the fireworks display. We had a marvelous time, and I hope your Fourth of July was good, too. Did you see any fireworks, and did you do anything special for the holiday?
I loved the picture of the happy kids on your letter. Are those some of yours? If so, they are absolutely charming, especially the little girl lying on her back and laughing up a storm! She is too adorable! I would still love to adopt, but I don't know if I could handle a child with special needs; but if you can do it, maybe then so can Chuck or myself!
How is the weather there in Nashville? Did you have any "natural fireworks" (i.e., thunderstorms)? I hope not, and I hope that your fireworks weren't fizzled out! But if the fireworks WERE canceled out, it is nice to know that they can reschedule them for the following night. It's as if the holiday was extended, and that is always fun! I wanted to go to Fort Worth, Texas, yesterday..they had Willie Nelson's picnic there yesterday, and I am a big Willie Nelson fan. I have loved him since I was but a teenager, and I love his song, "On The Road Again"! Do you like Willie Nelson? I think he is one of the best ones in country music! But we didn't make it (AGAIN!); we have been trying for the past several years, but for one reason or another, we haven't made it there to Texas yet. Maybe one day....*sighhhhhhhhhhh* This Willie Nelson fan can dream, can't she?? LOL
But this isn't really about Willie Nelson, fireworks, or Fourth of July fun...the crux of this letter is the questions I had about adoption, or how to go about it, and you answered all of my questions beautifully! You have given us lots of information, but you did it in a way that made it easy to understand, and you don't know HOW much we appreciate that! I am also happy to know that there IS financial aid available if we need it, and I am happy to know that you are sending us copies of your books. We will be looking forward to getting them; and we can get even more information about adoption through your books! That was awfully nice of you to do that!
It is obvious just by the descriptions of your kids of how very well cared for (and loved) they are; that is so wonderful to see! Too many times you hear of kids being killed or abused by their supposedly "loving" parents or caregivers; it is nice to see people like yourselves, people who actually give a DAMN about their children! God will bless you very much with what you have done for humankind, especially little children who are sick or hurting! You will most definitely be rewarded when you get to Heaven! :)
Thank you for the good wishes for Chuck and myself as we start our "Adoption Journey"; we will need all the prayers we can possibly get!
Well, I have to go; I am going to run Chuck's lunch to him at work; he just called, and it seems that he was in a rush to get to work, and he forgot his lunch! LOL Silly Pooh Bear!
