Dearest Kendra, My Sister In Christ Jesus~
You don't know how happy I am to hear from you; thank you so much for writing! I tried to call you on several fronts yesterday, but your phone was busy, and then the operator on the other line said that your number was no longer valid. What gives? Did you lose your phone service, or did you somehow forget to pay your bill? I wanted to talk to you after I emailed you, to tell you that I wrote to my pastor, Pastor Bilkey, and now you are on the prayer chain at Christ Community Assembly of God. He said that he will be writing to you, so be expecting something from a William Bilkey. That is my pastor, and he is very nice.
I also wanted to let you know that my daughter, Ronee', is in the hospital, but she is due to get out sometime today. She got stung by a bee yesterday morning, and she had an allergic reaction and had some trouble with her breathing. She was supposed to have gotten out sometime this morning, but Dr. Emmons (her primary pediatrician) was summoned to some sort of a pediatric emergency (Ronee' is NOT the one who is having it; it is another child altogether), but until he sees her and signs her discharge papers, she is still technically in the hospital. But she IS feeling MUCH better, and she IS breathing much easier, so I am very relieved! :) I will tell Ronee' that you asked about her when I see her later. She will be glad to know that I heard from you. She just loves you so much!
Yes, it IS awful about what happened in London, England, yesterday with the terror attacks. Fifty plus people dead and scores injured, many of them seriously. Such a shame, such a senseless act of hatred and violence..WHEN is this madness going to end?? It's like I am reliving the horror of September 11, 2001, when foreign terrorists struck our shores, and as a result, over 2,000 innocent men, women, and children's lives were instantly snuffed out. I also carry the burden of knowing that I lost several friends in the attacks, plus I know several who were injured, and now their lives are no longer the same. They will live with this nightmare for the rest of their lives, and I will, too. I will never forget seeing the carnage on tv or feeling the stab of fear and horror invading my innards, and I will never forget the burning anger at those terrorists who did this evil thing. I still feel a sense of anger, yet I know I must NOT stoop to their level and hate them; all I can do is pray for them and pray that God changes them and their way of life or thinking. After all, that is what Jesus did: He prayed for His Enemies, and as a Christian, I feel that is what is required of me, so I try to follow His Example and do the same thing.
I am sorry your one daughter is so upset, but seeing that she WAS born in England, I can fully understand. She probably has friends (or even remaining family) there, and she is concerned for their welfare and well-being. I don't have any children from England myself, but they are aware that something is amiss, and they are trying desperately to comprehend what has happened overseas and try to make sense of this situation. I have been talking to them about it, but it doesn't make it any easier when a little child looks up at me, tears in his eyes, and desperate questions written on his innocent little face.
My one daughter who was born in Iran (Bapsi, now known as Deborah, or for short, Debby) has been especially traumatized by this event because she WAS a former Muslim, and the memories of what she has had to endure back in her native Iran still cuts deep into her mind. She hasn't been able to sleep or eat, and I am very worried about her. Please keep Deborah in your prayers! She has been sick since yesterday, and getting her to try to eat something WITHOUT vomiting has been somewhat of a losing battle. She is still worried about kids doing mean things to her because of her background, and yes, at times, kids HAVE been mean to her, but these mean tricks on her are becoming fewer and farther between, thank goodness.
I do hope that you contact your lawyer about this case in which you may lose your children or your home. You should do it as soon as possible, WITHOUT delay! I will help you with the legalities if need be; I have learned a lot about law from my OWN lawyers, and they have been an invaluable help to me and my family whenever we needed their services!
Kendra, I know it is hard to try to explain to your children about why there is so much hatred in the world or why people have to endure so much. God has always said that He gives us only so much to handle, but it seems that some people are in over their heads with never-ending problems, and yet others who are "nogoodnicks" or evil seem to have it so much better, and they are sitting pretty. I wonder about why God allows such pain or suffering, but I have learned that the hardships have only made Bill and I grow closer, not only as husband and wife or parents, but as Christians, and God has gotten us through the fire too many times than we can count! We can then look back and thank God that He WAS there for us the entire time, even when we thought otherwise! You must learn to do that too, Kendra. I will be praying for strength and courage for you, and I will be behind you all the way if necessary! After all, we ARE friends!
Well, the phone is ringing. Maybe it is Dr. Emmons calling to let us know that we can now pick up Ronee' from the hospital. Let's certainly hope so; life is rather dull without her around!
