Young Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux drops by and shares her innermost thoughts about recent events in her journal.
Saturday, July 9, 2005, 10:36 a.m., C.D.T.~

Dear Journal~

I am not feeling too well, so please do forgive me. I just got out of the hospital yesterday evening, and I am very tired. (I had an anaphylactic shock reaction to a bee-sting, but I used my Epi-Pen, and it saved me. I still had trouble breathing, so this was why I had to go into the hospital. I was in for a little over a day. I went in Thursday morning, and I got out just last night, about nine.)

As you can probably figure out from this, this is Ronee' Le-Anne writing. I have been doing fairly okay, but I carry a heavy sadness in my heart, and I feel that I must write, to get my feelings out. So here goes...

First of all, I am sad because of what happened in London, England, just two days ago. Terrorists struck during rush hour, and up to fifty-sixty people were killed (and scores more were injured, many of them badly). They think it may have been the dirty work of Al-Quaeda, and now, London is trying to come to grips with what happened. It is as though I am reliving the horror of September 11, 2001, all over again, and I grieve for those affected by this horror. I don't know what is going on, but it is scaring the hell out of me! What is this world coming to? Why must the innocent suffer at the hands of evil-doers, and why isn't anything being done to capture these perpetrators and punish them?? I haven't slept well since hearing about this tragedy, and I am scared that it will happen here again if something drastic isn't done to protect our country and her people!

Secondly of all, I am sad because of my friend, Kendra Williams, who lives in Soulsbysville, California. She may be losing her kids AND her home because some ignorant people think that she isn't fit to be a parent because: a.) she is single, and b.) she is physically disabled (she has spina bifida). How stupid can people be?? I mean, REALLY. I have seen Kendra take care of her daughters, and she is a better parent than a lot of them...at least she CARES for her kids and knows how to give them love and support! Many parents don't CARE for their kids or treat them like trash, and abuse them, and stuff, and it makes me ILL! She wrote to my maman the other day, and she was in tears, and so was maman! Poor maman has been an emotional mess, and it's scaring me!

I am also upset because there is a hurricane (okay, a HIMacane!), Hurricane Dennis, threatening the Gulf Coast, and last I heard, he was turning into Dennis the Menace. He already trashed Cuba, and when he gets over the warm waters of the Gulf, he will very likely get stronger, and the people who are in his path are very likely to get wiped out if drastic measures aren't taken. I have friends and family down there, and I am worried about their safety! There is a remote possiblity that Dennis the Menace may turn into a Catagory 4 or 5 hurricane (according to the Safford-Simpson Hurricane Scale), and a hurricane of that magnitude is NOTHING to mess with! A hurricane that strong can cause tremendous damage and can very easily kill!

I don't know what to do anymore. I have prayed like I have never prayed before, and I am worn out emotionally. I know God IS there, and He hears the cries of my heart, but I still think He is tired of hearing me yammer about nothing in particular, and I am sure that He must think I am a nut for relying on Him so much! I am tired, and I think that the events of recent days are the culprit behind my health ills lately. I know it was the bee that caused me to get sick in the first place, but ever since hearing about London (and later Kendra Williams), I have been nauseated, and eating has been a struggle for me. I am also tired, and I just feel so bad!

Please keep me in your prayers; I can really use them about now!

(((HUGZ))) and much love, your (tired and sick) friend, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux, aged 12 1/2. :( >tears<

A very emotional write. We live in a world that is far from perfect and the events that take place can be very depressing but we have to carry on and place our trust in God and ask for His guidance.

Karen,

Ronee has a lot on her plate. All she can do is continue to trust the Lord and trust in Him. It's hard, I know...

A very powerful, emotional release in her (your) words; well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(
