Dear Journal~
This is your friend, Johnny, writing, but unlike my last entry (#33), this journal entry is a lot more serious.
I am writing because like my sister, Ronee' Le-Anne, I carry a sadness in my heart that can't be broken. I am sad because of what happened a few days ago in London, England. Members of Al-Quaeda (spelling?) struck some of London's transit systems during the time people were going to work, or coming home from work (I really don't know; London is ahead of us time wise, and I am not that good at figuring out just how much ahead they are from us), and as a result, over fifty people are dead, and many more of them have been injured, many of them badly. Several Americans were hurt in the bomb blasts, and so I am very sad. I don't understand the method behind these terrorists' minds, or why they have to use violence and kill (or hurt) innocent people to get their point across; it just doesn't seem to make any sense whatsoever. Now another nation grieves, and it is like we are reliving September 11, 2001 all over again. (September 11, 2001 is when WE were attacked by terrorists, and because of their hatred, twin towers no longer stand tall in New York City, the Pentagon isn't as safe or inpenetrable as it once was, and nearly 3,000 men, women, and children died. It was the worst national disaster since Pearl Harbor back during the Second World War, when the Japanese bombed us and killed many people in Hawai'i.)
I am also sad because I feel bad for the people over there. I wish I could just reach across the ocean and give the English people hugs or prayers of support during this unbelievably sad and difficult time as they come to terms with what has happened. I also am mad because I wish these darn terrorists could be found and punished, and I wish that they could find ol' Bin Laden and give HIM what HE deserves. He is a very bad man, and he needs to be stopped before he (or any of his followers) strike again!
I am also sad because my friend in California may lose her home (and her kids). My friend's name is Kendra Mae Williams, and she is the single parent to over a dozen girls who range in age from five on up to near adulthood, and like their mama, all of the girls are disabled. ANYway, some people think that Kendra isn't fit to be a parent because she is disabled herself (she is in a wheelchair, and she was born with spina bifida), and she is not married, and there are people who want to break her family up. My mom found out about this several days ago, and she has been on the verge of tears ever since. I am praying like heck that this doesn't happen because Kendra is a good mother, even if she IS disabled, and I have seen her at work, and I KNOW for a FACT that she can take very good care of her kids! Her kids are very well cared for, and they are very well loved! Why do people want to break up such a good family? Kendra does NOT deserve this!
Other than these two things, life for me has been good. My sister, Ronee', was in the hospital until last night; she was supposed to have gotten out yesterday morning, but Dr. Emmons had to take care of this little boy who fell through a plate glass window, and he nearly bled to death; he was with the kid all day, but he and others finally managed to save the kid's life, and now he is in the PICU, fighting for his little life. So he didn't get to sign Ronee' 's discharge papers until yesterday evening, so Ronee' had to stay at the hospital until mama got off work at 11. Ronee' was in the hospital because she got stung by a bee and had an allergic reaction to the sting. She had trouble breathing, so she was admitted for overnight, so the doctors and nurses could keep an eye on her and on her breathing. Now Ronee' is home, and her cat, "Cajun", is VERY happy: she is lying beside Ronee', just purring her furry little head off! LOL
My mom may let me have a sugar glider..one of my friends, Brian, has three, and they are really cute and interesting to watch. They are a sort of marsupial, and they have big eyes and they look like little flying squirrels. They can glide from place to place, and they are really fun to watch. But they ARE a handful, so my mom isn't sure as to whether she will let me have a sugar glider or not. But I am hoping that she will let me have one. I think they are cool!
I had a very good Fourth of July: we went to the Nashville's Fourth of July celebration downtown, and I got to sing on stage, and I also got to ride some of the carnival rides and got to see the parade and fireworks. It was a very nice time, but I am sad it is over. That's what I hate about holidays like the Fourth of July or Christmas: people build up the excitement, and once it is over, you always feel let down, and then you have to wait until the next major holiday comes. But I DO like having time off from school during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day, and Labor Day! That is by far the BEST thing about holidays! :)
Well, I will go now. I have to take my meds, and I also have to rest; I am tired today. I will write in here later on. Take care, dear Journal!
