Dear Betty Jo And Family~
I hope (and pray) that you are okay. I have been worried sick about you, ever since first hearing about Hurricane Dennis (the Menace) lurking in the Gulf. I hope you got through the storm with little difficulty. We are now getting the leftover rains from Dennis here now, and it is absolutely miserable and nasty out! The rains are due to move out sometime this afternoon, but until then, we have to put up with the heavy rains and the possiblity of flooding.
The kids, as you can imagine, are stuck inside, and Ronee' is having a devil of a time with her arthritis flaring up; her joints are paining her, and she feels bad. She just got out of the hospital the other day, and she is on the mend. (She had a bee sting her, and she suffered an allergic reaction; she was only in for a day, for observation. She is very allergic to insect stings, particularly those from stinging insects like bees, wasps, hornets, or yellowjackets, as well as from bites from spiders or fire ants. If she gets stung, she runs the possiblity of having an adverse allergic reaction where she will break out into hives, swell up like a balloon, and have difficulty breathing. Sometimes the attack has been so bad she has actually stopped breathing, and we have had to call the paramedics on her, so they could try to help her.) But she is now fine; she just happens to be in a lot of pain right now from the inclimate weather.
Did you sustain any damage from the hurricane? Did you lose power, and are you home, or are you at a shelter someplace until the all-clear is given? Have you heard from Eddie Greene and HIS family yet? We haven't, and we are worried about them, too. If you DO hear from him (or see him), please tell him to drop me a line! Thanks~
Be praying for my dear friend, Kendra Williams, in Soulsbysville, California: she is a single parent to sixteen children, all girls, and she may be losing her home (as well as her children) because there are some people who don't think she should be a parent because a.) she is single, and be.) she happens to be physically disabled (spina bifida; she is in a wheelchair). I have been very upset about this, and I have been praying for her like there is no tomorrow, and I have been trying to get into the Word and see what God has to say about a situation like this. I have been an emotional wreck this past week, and I just don't know what to do to help my friend except to pray.
Then, after Kendra's situation, I heard about the bombings/terror attacks in London, England, and it's like I am reliving the horror of September 11, 2001, when terrorists struck OUR shores and murdered nearly 3,000 of our citizens; because of their evil ways, twin towers no longer stand tall in Manhattan, and the Pentagon isn't as impenetrable as it once was, and people are running scared and living out in fear. I also lost several friends in the attacks, and I also met several people who were directly affected by the attacks, and it has changed me on the inside. I still am angry at the terrorists who did this to our country (and to other nations: Spain, Kenya, Bali, and now England; who will be next??), but I mustn't stoop to their level and hate...all I CAN do is pray and hope that God brings swift and much needed justice to them and change them in some way. That is my dearest wish right now: for these evil-doers to be caught, punished with the severest form of the law, and locked up for the rest of their sorry lives! They are not human; they are ANIMALS, and they should be dealt with in an inhumane, animalistic manner!
On and all, Betty, it has been a bad week for me. I have had several hard days at work, and I am flat out exhausted. I have been working more hours because a co-worker's husband is very sick, and she has had to be with him. Therefore, I am working HER shift AS well as MINE, and it seems that I am hardly home, or if I AM home, I am dealing with my kids and my husband, and I am past exhausted! The terror attacks in London and my friend Kendra's sitaution does little to improve my dark mood, and I am quite depressed.
Well, Ronee' is calling me again, so I'd best see what she wants, and I also have to see what the kids are up to: it's TOO quiet! I just hope they aren't cooking up anything in the way of mischief...I will write again when I hear from you next! You are in my prayers, and again, I hope you managed to escape the hurricane! God bless you, Betty, and thanks again for caring!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your (tired and depressed) friend in rainy Tennessee, Louie May Sandusky. :( >tears<
