Dear Sisters,

I am mad at Daddy too. He hurt Mamma, and us too. I never told anyone, but sometimes when you would go to the grocery store and I would stay at home with him. He would come into my room and touch me in ways that a Daddy should not. It hurt too much to tell anyone. I would just cry alone in my room after he left. I didn’t want to make Mamma hurt anymore than she already was, so I just kept it to myself. I still have not told Mamma, so don’t tell anyone I told you. Please keep it a secret, just between us sisters. Maybe down the road, I will tell Mamma, but not until we are all together again and our new life is started.

I know everyone keeps expecting me to come be with you after I get well, but I want to stay here with Mamma until she is ready to travel. I don’t want to leave her here all alone. She needs me more than you and Lacey do. Please understand, but I am going to do my best to convince everyone to let me stay here. I will join you when Mamma does and we can have one big happy reunion.

I had better go. I could not sleep no matter how hard I tried, so I got up again and am writing to you by a very dim light, trying not to wake Mamma. She is getting better and more aware of things like light and sounds. More than when she was first put into the hospital.
