Susie Jackson writes to her mother's friend in Tennessee
Dear Ms. Sandusky,
This is Susie Jackson writing. The nice Social Worker got me a laptop so I could keep in touch with my sisters while we are seperated. Deb has been very nice to me and my mother since she has been in the hospital. She arranged for someone to come and help my mom while she recovers and to take care of me (which I really don't need, I can take care of myself! I'm not a baby, I am seven years old after all!). I met them yesterady. I think the family's name is Cohen. They have a daughter but I don't remember her name. She seemed really nice.
I've been really upset since last night. I didn't sleep at all. Louisa said when I got out of the hospital I would go to California, where Maria and Lacey are, and I don't want to. I want to stay here with my mama. She needs me. I will go to where my sisters are when Mama is ready to travel. The adults don't think I can be very helpful to my Mama, but I can. I get her something drink when she is thristy, and I can call the nurse when she needs her.
I'm very upset with my daddy for putting Mama in the hospital. I am also hurt by the things he did to me. I am not mad at him though. I know this will sounds wierd. I am hurt by the things he did to me and Mama. I don't know if he hurt my sisters like he did me. They never talked about it if he did. It makes me cry to think about daddy doing the things to my sisters that he did to me. I don't know if I can ever forgive him for tearing our family apart like he did.
I need to go. Mama is waking up and she probably needs something. I will try to write more later but I am so tired from not sleeping last night I might not write again until tomorrow.
