Dear Audrey~
I am shocked at your decision; you are so right about that! But I will see to it that a family is found for your beautiful daughters before it is too late. I wish I could take them in (I would do so in a heartbeat!), but I already have my village LOL of soon to be 53 children, and there is hardly any room. But I will contact some of the families that I regularly write to, to see if they are interested in taking in Maria, Lacey, and Susie.
I wish I knew what to say about this; but your heart is shattered. I know of the pain of which parents go through when they surrender up their own child up to adoption; adoption is a big time decision, and it is often one made out of haste or necessity. But that doesn't mean you are a bad mother; you are just going through some things, and you feel that your daughters would benefit with a more stable home environment. I can understand that, and I commend you for giving the children a sense of a hopeful future. This is why Bill, my husband, and myself took in the kids we have today because if it were not for people such as ourselves, none of the children that we now raise as our own would ever have a home or a family because of their ages, their racial backgrounds, and most of all, their disabilities. Nobody seems to want a child who is older than the age of a year, racially mixed or of another race different than their own, or a child who is part of a sibling group, or a child who is disabled. These children are often left to fall through the cracks, and oftentimes they are left to fend for themselves. It is really a tragic situation, but I am glad that you are willing to give them a better life and give another family a sense of hope in having a child that they couldn't have on their own. That is very courageous of you, and I am glad that you wrote to me to tell me this.
Still, it isn't easy, and it is going to be hard for them, especially since they ARE old enough to understand what is going on, but if I know your girls, they have your tough nature, and they are going to make it. I have complete faith in your daughters, and I have complete faith in you. I will be praying for you now more than ever, and I pray that a family is found for Susie, Lacey, and Maria. I will try to get in touch with some of the families that I write to on a regular basis, to see if they are interested in taking in three very sad, lonely little girls, one, of which, is physically disabled. I will let you know if anything happens, so this won't be the last time you will have heard from me!
God be with you, Audrey, and I hope to hear from you again soon! I will be praying for you and for your girls!

This is sad sad sad. It really takes alot of Love to do as she is doing for her daughters though. Sad story Karen but it does bring to light the "other" options that people can do for the sake of their children.
