Louisiana Sandusky fires off a quick letter to her friend in Soulsbysville, California, Kendra Williams, to let her know that their newest child, eight-year-old Janica Kryzstina from Romania, has arrived safely, and she is now with the family. As you can imagine, Louisiana is beside herself with joy.

Dear Kendra Mae~
Hello! I just wanted to let you know the good news that Janica Kryzstina, our little Miracle from Romania, is finally here! She arrived yesterday, and we have all been enjoying her so much! She sure is a very cute little girl, and her hair has gotten a little longer since the picture of her that I sent to you was taken, and she knows a few basic words in English; so at least we ARE able to communicate with her a LITTLE bit! Danica has been helping me with the Romanian part of it; she knows some Romanian as well as her native Bosnian, and she can communicate and translate for us if we run into trouble. Janica is rather shy, but I am sure that once she gets used to being here with us and gets to know us more, her true personality will soon shine through. She does seem to be a very sweet little girl, though, and we are so blessed to have her here after months of waiting and hoping!!
I heard from my friend in Mississippi, Audrey Williams, and she is worried about her girls. I personally don't blame her, but I personally think that something more is going on, and she doesn't want to tell me about it. Still, as I told her yesterday when I wrote to her, the best thing I could do was pray for her and her girls, and pray that all this madness that they have had to endure soon ends. I pray it does; I don't know how she can stand it!!
How is the weather over there in Soulsbysville? Has it cooled off any? Here it is hot, hot, hot! But by the weekend it is supposed to cool down to the eighties, and we may have some rain tomorrow or Friday before it clears up Saturday; and then it is supposed to be nice until the middle of next week, when we again have a chance for rain. Then it is supposed to warm up again...ahhh, such as it is here in the south during the summertime! *sighhhhh* I can't wait for fall; I love the fall, and I love winter, too! I love all the seasons, really, but I pick winter and fall as my two favorites! I hope it has gotten cooler there; yes, temps over 100 ARE uncomfortable, but at least there you don't have to wrestle with all the high humidities! That is what is so bad about the summers down south! I can live with heat, but that humidity can kill you if you aren't used to it!
How are your girls doing? How is Chelsea adjusting to her new role as sister to fifteen other girls? I hope they are treating her well, and I know you are enjoying her! Tell Chelsea hello from us, and give her a HUGE (((Sandusky style hug))) from us, okay??
How is Louisa Mason doing with her pregnancy? Has she had the baby yet, or is she and Jeff still waiting? Tell the Masons hello from us too, and tell Louisa and Jeff I shall write to them soon! I have a mountain of mail to tackle, but I am so busy with the kids, the adoption community and helping other families with adoption, and so forth! I am enjoying the time off from work, but it sure is hard on the bills! But we will make it with God's help! And we DO get SOME extra money, so that will come in very handy come bill time!
Well, Kendra, I know this is short, but Ronee' is calling me, and she doesn't sound too happy about something; will have to see what is going on. I will write again soon; take care, and give your children all my love! God bless you too and take care of YOURSELF as well!

P.S.: We are getting ready to go to LeCajun, which is an annuual awards show and Cajun music festival honoring the best and brightest stars in Cajun music. It will be held for three days in Lafayette, Louisiana, and people come from all over America and the world to hear live Cajun music! We will be going in a few weeks, and we go every year. I will let you know more about it in coming days; so stay tuned! Also heard from Nikolas and Sari in Greece, and they are getting ready to go on a 21-day cruise to Alaska; seems that Nikolas got a free trip from his work, and so now he and Sari are going to be doing some serious traveling! I will write to them soon, to see exactly what all of this is all about!

I feel I learn so much about other lives when I read your friends' letters, Karen. The touching details make it so real and it's like THESE are the people who keep our ship of humanity afloat... those who go largely unsung and unseen.
