Dear Louisiana~
Hello! I am so happy to have heard from you; but I am also saddened to hear that you are having some serious health problems! I do hope it is nothing life-threatening; I have been near (or in) tears ever since I got your last letter, and I wonder if it is something I may have done. I know I have said some mean or cruel things in the past, and I wanted to take this time now to apologize for my transgressions!
Michael and myself are doing well, but I and Michael have been concerned about you. We have tried to call you, but you a.) either were not home (did you get any of our messages??), or b.) your husband (Bill) said that you were not available at the time; and c.) twice the operator said that "your number had been disconnected". So this was why you haven't heard from us; because in case something WAS seriously wrong, we didn't want to bother you. I do hope you are doing somewhat better by now, and I hope that your daughter to be (Janica) is soon to be there! (Is she there yet, or are you still waiting for her?? Let me know; I am all ears [even theough my ears don't exactly hear or work that well!! LOL]!)
How are Johnny and Ronee' doing? Is Ronee' recovered from her surgery yet, or is she still having difficulty in getting around? How has Johnny's muscular dystrophy been holding out? Has he had any more problems with it? How are Jeraldo, Enriquesa, Sunshine Lee and Andre', Roberto, Monica, Sun-Hee, Jodie, and all the rest of the Sandusky gang doing? Please tell each and every one of them hello from us in Alaska, and tell them that we love and miss them all!
How is the weather there in the Lower 48? Here it is coolish, with highs in the 60's; it shan't be long before winter starts to settle in, and the plants (what little we have up here, that is) and the trees start dying and withering to nothingness, and the first snowflakes start to flying. The lights are due to start any time, and of course, you know we will both be taking pictures and sending them to you if you would still like. I love winter, don't get me wrong, but I still feel a twinge of sadness because of Mother and Father being gone, and I also miss seeing Jerrica and her boys. They don't come over as much; guess they are too busy with their own lives than to bother with the likes of me or Michael. I hope the weather isn't too hot there!
Please do write me and Michael soon; we love to hear from you, and we miss your cheery letters (although the last few haven't been that cheery)! We also miss your beautiful Rainbow Northern Lights Family, and we miss your wonderful Cajun-style home cookin'! Again, I hope you aren't mad at me; if I have said or done anything in the past to upset you, I am truly sorry, and so is Michael! Please do take care of yourself, and know that you and your family are both in Michael's and my thoughts!
Such genuine love and concern amidst pressured lives and suffering... here are strong bonds of friendship and community that no amount of distance and time can break! The giving and receiving of forgiveness is a very strong relationship-forger.
