My friend, Regis Auffray introduces his main page on AuthorsDen.com with six declarative sentences, each one a different subject. In sum, they resonate with me. I asked Regis if I could use his introduction and key off his words with a few of my own. Regis said go ahead. Here's what I came up with.
"There is wisdom in realizing how little I know." Whack. Right to the side of my head. This is a constant thought of mine. It's always there. Not only when I walk at night looking at the stars, or pat my cat, talk with my wife, drive my car, listen to the thunder now as I'm writing these words, whatever. I don't really know what is going on and I'm curious, constantly curious. Regis uses the word, "wisdom," but I am leary of using such a judgemental word. My words might be "comfort" or "calm."
"I love the beauty and power of words that form a relationship when nurtured." Well yes. That's what we're doing on AuthorsDen.com, But Regis points out, "when nurtured," and "power." Big difference, that. Think of the phrases from poems that we all know, even if we do not know the whole poem, its name or author. For instance, "the road was a ribbon of moonlight, over the purple moor," or "I think I shall never see, a poem as lovely as a tree," or "and that has made all the difference." Regis has identified a key to what we do and why we do it.
"The world makes less and less sense to me." Me too. I remember how my father Joesph Kent Stevens became saddened and bitter as he grew older. I didn't understand it then, but I am learning to understand it now.
"Earthians" seem to learn nothing from the past." This is unfortunate because it would seem we could learn how to make steady progress. It's summer now as I write this and there are no reports in the morning papers of polio outbreaks among children. This is wonderful. However, many stories in any paper have a timelessness that would allow us to put any past date on the masthead, and it would not damage the freshness of the content.
"We're still fighting among ourselves." The eternal and forever problem. The record for peace is and has been the weakest link amongst peoples since recorded time. Many answers have been proposed, many plans have been made. But patience snaps and war comes down again, raining hell.
"What if "leaders" called and no one came?" This is a real sparkplug. I wonder if "leaders" are not just people who sense where things are going and get out in front. If they guess right, (I do mean guess), then they are leaders. So did the leaders call, or did the call arise of its own? On an individual basis each person has the choice to remain silent-not called.

Wow- Henry a breakdown on Regi's words and feelings and a introd. to what you feel also, and done within the same phrasing- I found this a treat to see 2 differ. views - What a thought- Regi is a mind to be applauded~~!~~ To make sense of this life- our leaders and our hope in the Future is not easy to determine or understand- Thanks for making me think, Both you GREAT men- WArm HuGs2U-Sheee P.S.
