Dear Wilma And Frederick~
Hey! Thank you ever so much for writing me back; I have been starting to wonder about you...I am glad you are okay, and I am especially happy to learn that you are in the process of adopting a child, a little girl from China! She is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! I do hope and pray that the adoption of little Pearl Xie goes through; I will put your names on our prayer chain at Christ Communty Assembly of God, and we will flood the Gates of Heaven and pray that this comes to pass! I am sorry to learn that Tyler, the little boy you had your heart set on adopting, didn't get to come to you; but I am glad that God is working with you and opening another door! He is always faithful, and He DOES answer prayer, just not in the way we may not expect Him to! This is a perfect example of that! He may not have brought you Tyler, but He is in the process of bringing another child into your lives, and you can at long last, be a family! That is terrific news!!
We have been well; but Ronee' is sick with a sinus infection. She is in bed, honking like a Canada goose, and sneezing her head off. She is not feeling her best; this started yesterday, and she ended up coming home from school early. So she may not go to church tomorrow. Johnny is trying to come down with something too; he has been sneezing, and we are going to have to watch over him like a hawk. His immune system is not the best in the world; and he isn't nearly as strong as he used to be. Whenever he gets sick, it is alwys a gigantic worry, as he has Duchenne's muscular dystrophy. Please keep Johnny in your prayers too; he can really use them! So we may have two sick little ones on our hands. GREAT. I just hope nobody else falls ill; the LAST thing we Sanduskys need is a housefull of sick kids!! And with flu season around the corner (and the possibilty of that Asian bird flu coming here), this is NOT the best time to get sick!! (We are going to have to get our flu shots very soon if we have ANY chance of beating the flu!!)
The weather here is sunny and warm, but not too terribly so. I bet it is beautiful down there, in Oklahoma, with the leaves starting to change. The leaves are JUST starting to change here; it will be at least a week or two (probably around Hallowe'en and our church's fall festival) before the leaves here are at their peak color. I know fall down there in Oklahoma is spectacular; I have seen the commercials for Oklahoma on our tv from time to time on the Weather Channel, and the colors are AMAZING!!
Well. Last night we went to our daughter's high school football game, and our home team, the Nashville Stallions, won big, something like 50-2. They skunked the other team BAD!! Barbie did so very well throwing the football; she threw for over 100 yards in passing, and she only got sacked once. But the other team never had a chance against the Stallions' killer offense! Yes, you read right: our daughter, Barbara, is the quarterback for the high school football team! She has always been something of a tomboy at heart, and she just LOVES playing football! The more dirtier she gets and the harder the tackles, she is right there, in the thick of it!! Now, she is not very big physically, but once you get all that extra padding on her, she is invincible, and she plays HARD! She has been playing football ever since she was in ninth grade (this is her last year), and she has really enjoyed it! We also went because we have kids in band and on the cheerleading squad, and they have as much fun as the spectators and the footballers themselves! We go to just about every game, all of us; but last night Ronee' didn't go, as she is sick with the sinus. Johnny didn't go either because of his nose; but grandpere' and grandmere' both kept close watch over them, and thank GOD there were no problems with them while we were at the football game!!
Well, I guess this is about it for now. Again, congratulations on the impending adoption of Pearl Xie; I pray all goes well for you guys! Please DO keep us informed as soon as you hear ANYTHING!! We will be praying HARD!!!! God bless you both!!
