I am so happy to know that you are doing better in relation to your health. I know it is hard to live with chronic illness, but Sari, what you have to realize is this: you may have your bad days at times, but there are days where you are doing well, and those are the days you need to take into consideration. You are so fortunate; so many other people with MS have it so far worse, to the point to where they are racked with unending pain, total paralysis to the point to where they need 24-hour medical care, and total dependency on friends or family members. You, at least, are able to get around. So what if you may use Lofstrand crutches or use a wheelchair...at least YOU are able to do things, and you CAN get around without TOO much trouble! Now there are those unpredictable days where you feel like you are the only person who is going through hell, but you have it so much better!! I will continue to pray for you!
I had fun the past several evenings: for the past several days, our city has been putting on a haunted house to raise funds for the recent hurricane victims/survivors, and I have been helping out with the ticket sales. We have raised nearly $10,000 so far for relief efforts, and it is all for a good cause. The kids and adults have been fun participating in this event, and it is a good way to get into the "spirit" of the season. Tonight we are having our church's annual "Fall Festival", and there will be treats for the people who come, and there will be country and gospel music, and there will be plenty of good food and fellowship on hand. We really don't celebrate the scarier side of Hallowe'en, but that is okay: the people come to praise God, and they come for a good hot meal, fellowship, and lots of fun. There will be costume contests for both adults and kids, and there will be prizes for the prettiest, funniest, most original, scariest, and outlandish costume. There will also be plenty of rides and games for the kids, and we adults plan on having fun too! There will even be a "haunted" hayride (scaled down to tasteful means, ,of course), and we plan on having fun without getting the poop scared out of us!! :) Last night, we did; the haunted house featured ghouls, witches, Dracula, Frankenstein, a mummy, and more "monstery" type of personnel, and quite a few people got scared! My daughter, Ronee', who was dressed up as Loretta Lynn, got so scared she accidentally wet her pants. She was so mortified, but she did get a good laugh out of it later! My son, Johnny, was one of the "haunted" set; he was an alien, and he looked quite creepy with his big, alien eyes, skull cap replete with red and blue veins, green face, and long hands with the black fingers. But he had a ball scaring the wits out of the unsuspecting guests!
How is the weather there? Here it is rainy, but it is supposed to clear up by this afternoon, in plenty of time for the kids and their trick and treats. A cold front is coming in, and we are getting some thunderstorms at the present time. But nothing too severe, thank goodness.
Well, it is really bamming and booming out there, so I'd best get off this computer before I get fried, and then my Hallowe'en will turn ghastly!
