Dear Louisiana Mayrah~
Hi! This is your friend in Smyrna, Georgia, Donna Oliver, writing! Thank you so much for your beautiful email; it was so nice to hear from you! I enjoyed learning more about you and your beautiful International Family! I hope to see a picture of you guys; I bet you make quite a sight whenever you guys go out in public! LOL Man, some kids sure do have it rough, don't they? I cried when I read about Richard, Deborah, Jodie, Todd, and Roberto! But I am glad that they now have a loving family and a home that they can call their very own, and I am sure that they love having you for a mommy. You seem like such a caring, compassionate warrior for the Lord; and your faith is very inspiring to see! (Or read! LOL)
Do you like this italicized format in the font? I am trying to experiment with different stylings, and colors, but today I am going for basic black, I tried to do red, but it only did black. Oh, well. Sometimes computers can be fickle things...LOL
I visited the veterans hospital here in town; took some of the veterans some fruit baskets and gave them flowers and wished them a happy day. I do this every year. What do you guys do to celebrate Veteran's Day? Do you have any veterans in your family? I have a brother, Charles, who was in the Marines (he is set to retire in a few years; he's been in the Marines for 20 years, and he absolutely LOVES it!!), and I also have a nephew, Kristopher, who is now currently serving in Iraq, and every day, I fear for him. I keep hearing of all the Americans being shot up or killed in Iraq, and it is enough to make me want to lose my belly, I get so upset; I am so sure that Kris is going to be one of those hurt or killed, and I can't live with the fears and uncertainty right now! Please keep him in your prayers; his name is Kris Oliver, and he is just 21 years old. He is married, and he has a baby boy, Reece Nathaniel, who is the cutest little thing! He is but a few months old, and my heart melts each and every time I see him! (They live in Atlanta, but right now, Kris is in Iraq, near the town of Mozul [I BELIEVE that is the name of the town!])
How is the weather there? It sounds like you have been having a lovely fall. The leaves are starting to change here, but it has been kinda' warm for the month (but not as bad as Texas, which is also experiencing a drought; they are below 12" in rain fall deficits, and they need rain DESPERATELY down there!!). Texas has also been in the 80's to 90's in parts of the state, and they are CRYING for rain! Here it is rainy today, a perfect day for DUCKS! LOL So I am stuck inside with the kids while Corey is twiddling around in his workshop, trying to get some of his wood projects caught up. He just LOVES to make things with his hands; he has always been good at that sort of thing! Me, I am the type of person who keeps hitting her fingers with the hammer or dropping the drill on my foot! LOL Last year, I broke my foot after I dropped a drill on it, and I hobbled for six weeks on crutches! I broke three bones in my foot; talk about PAIN!! OW!! It STILL hurts whenever I think of it! (So DON'T do it, dummy! LOL NOT you, but ME! LOL)
M'Bute' and Bethlehem are home from the hospital; they came home on Thursday, and they are feeling better. But Bethlehem has to go to the doctor's every week to check on her wounds, and she has to have the bandages on her legs changed every four hours and have stuff put on the burns, to protect them from infection. As for M'Bute', she is on medication, and right now, she is on survelience, because she has been so unpredictable lately. Hopefully the new medication they gave her will calm her moods and help her with her impulsiveness and her manic moods! Lord, I certainly hope so!! But we are glad to have the girls home; the house just isn't the same wihout them!
I am sorry you have to put up with fire ants up there in Tennessee; they ARE nasty, aren't they? I also hate carpenter ants; last spring, we had an invasion of carpenter ants, and they got into our house and made an unbelievable mess! I also still have nightmares from the time when I woke up from sleeping, and I happened to look at th one wall nearest the door--only, to my hourror, to find it completely covered with black ants!! You couldn't see the wall for all the ants! The wall looked as though it were MOVING! It was creepy! Needless to say, the exterminators were there within a half hour after I had called them ; and ever since then, we have NOT had any ant problems! But I still have nightmares whenever I see ants crawling along the ground (especially if they are big or black!!) or see movies about giant mutated ants! GAD!! *Cringe, cringe, cringe* Ants give me the WILLIES!! *Shivering* It doesn't sound like fun from when you described the allergies some of your kids have with insect stings; that must be unnerving to try to protect them during the spring, summer, and fall months! YIKES! I would be a nervous wreck!!
Well, Louie, I am sorry this is short, but it is time for me to change Bethie's bandages again, and I also have to give M'Bute' her medication. I also have to take care of Dixon; he just made a loadie in his pants, and he is starting to stink to high heaven; PEW!! Take care, and God bless!
