Dear Louisiana~
Hi! Thanks for your delightful letter; it is always great to hear from you again!
I am sure that your kids are good kids, and I am glad that you discipline them whenever they act up. All too many times you see kids who don't get the discipline that they sorely need, and too many parents today just don't CARE. But it IS disconcerting to see so many disabled kids in one place; I am not that used to being around so many disabled people. I guess that will change when I start hanging around you and your family, but for now, being around so many people with disabililities IS uncomfortable!
I had to laugh the other day...my cat, "Furball", got into it with a neighbor's cat. Oh, she didn't actually FIGHT with the other cat, but she sure raised a hissy fit (LITERALLY) when she saw the other cat in our yard. She furred out a mile, and her eyes marbled up, and she made noises I never heard a cat do; it was quite interesting, but all I could do was laugh at that darn cat! Yes, I did get reunited with "Furball" last month, and it was a very happy (if tearful) reunion! I was never so glad to see that darn cat in all my days! When I took her into my arms, she immediately started purring like a motorboat, and she knew that it was me, and she was one contented kittycat! Ever since then, she won't leave my side, and I am sooo happy to have "Furball" back into my life again!
I am getting used to being here in Nashville, but people up here do NOT know how to drive! They drive CRAZY here!! YIKES!! No, I don't drive yet (kinda' hard to do so with this darn thing on my arm!!), but I DO go with my friend, Darlena, and there have been several occasions where we nearly got inot a wreck! I don't know HOW you do it, Louie, let alone, keep your SANITY, when you drive here! Y IKES! LOL
I do wish I could be with my husband and my kids for Christmas, but until I get back on my feet, I am afraid that they will be stuck in Texas for the holiday season. I sure do miss them bad!! I am still planning on getting them a little something for Christmas so they don't think I abandoned them; but it sure nuff is hard to be apart!! I cry every day whenever I think of them!! Nobody should be apart ANYWAY, but ESPECIALLY on a holiday like CHRISTMAS!!
I went to your church last week, and I was moved by the Spirit; it was the very first time I stepped into a non-Baptist church, and it was neat, but it was also WEIRD! All those people falling out onto the floor or dancing or shouting or talking; it was quite unlike my Baptist upbringing! But I DID enjoy the music, and I love the way the choir sang! I especially delighted in the children's choir! I think I saw some of your kids in that choir, and I think I saw you and Bill in the adult choir! I also loved your pastor's preaching; man, that guy can SHOUT!! WOW! He startled me a time or two, but boy, he sure drove the point across! He is a good preacher!! I will have to visit Chirst Community Assembly of God again soon; I really liked your church! (By the way, did you see me there? I saw you guys there!)
I am still not working, still looking for work. It is getting frustrating. I either get turned away because they have enough help (or so they say!), or else I don't have enough experience; but I am not giving up. SOMEBODY out there MUST be desperate for employees, especially to hire someone like ME. LOL I am willing to do ANYTHING for work, as long as it brings money in and pays the bills! Please keep me in your prayers, that I find gainful employment soon!
Well, Louie, I will go for now. I am cooking some chicken pot pies for lunch, and it smells like they are about ready to come out. So before I set my friend's place on fire, I'd better scoot. Few still call the Pentecostals Holy Rollers, an insulting term coined by opponent of the movement. The Quakers now encourage the use of Friends, their former name, and even Athiests want to be now called "freethinkers." When it comes to how the public perceives a religion, obviously, names matter. Think of this next time you pin a name tag on at a function which requires you to label yourself; a case in point about the power of a name. The name of this CAT is on the loose! Watch OUT!
