Dear Louisiana~
Hey! Thank you for your delightful letter; I am sorry for not getting back to you right away, but Bethlehem had to go back into the hospital, and it has been CRAZY here! She WAS doing better, but she has a bad infection in her legs, and there is talk [from the doctors] that she may lose them. Poor M'Bute' has been beside herself with worry, and so have we. Please keep us in your prayers, okay? It has really been a rough time here, especially since it IS so close to Christmas!
I am glad that you guys are doing well at the present time! Are you having any company over for the Christmas break? We aren't, and we don't want any, especially now with Bethie being so sick and M'Bute' being so upset. I will keep you up to date regarding Bethlehem's situation, but right now, it doesn't look all that good. And my cousin, Michelle in California, gave birth to her first child, and the child was born with serious disabilities, among them mental deficits, spina bifida, and she may be blind. Her name is Rayne Delilah, and she is very sick. She is in the NICU, and she isn't doing that good. Please keep my cousin and her daughter in your prayers as well! I know you are a huge prayer warrior, so any prayers would definitely help! Thanks!
I laughed when I read about the turkey! How funny! Do you still cook Thanksgiving turkeys now or do you just go out to have them? That must have been emBARrassing!! LOL Poor you!! Poor TURKEY!! LOL
Thank you for telling me about your kids and also your father and hubby. I am sorry that they have to live with disabiltiies, but it seems that they handle their physical challenges a lot better than most people would. Good for them! My kids certainly do; they are all stubborn and determined to overcome their disabling conditions, and they are incredibly bright and optimistic! I am glad your daughter Ronee' is doing better with HER health; it sounds like she has really had a hard life! And as for your son, Johnny, he is another one that I am glad is doing better; but muscular dystrophy is still a horrible disease! We must do all we can to find a cure for it!! I don't personally know of anyone who has it (other than your son Johnny, that is), but I hear that the families who DO have family members with it go through hell like you wouldn't BELIEVE!!
The weather is cold here...there was an Arctic front that came in early this morning, and the temps are falling fast. BRR! We may get some sleet and a bit of freezing rain later; but right now it is partly sunny out. The temps here in Smyrna are supposed to fall into the 20's by later afternoon, and the roads may get treacherous if we get any precipitation at all because by then it will be COLLLLLD!! BRRR! Time to get out the sand and the snow shovels and the heavy clothing out, folks! BRRRR!! (I HATE cold weather!!) Is it cold there? I bet it is!! They were showing on the news of the travel headaches that were going on in Texas, and many flights were either delayed or cancelled. They were also showing the cars and trucks slip-sliding on the roadways there, and it just made me glad that I don't live in TEXAS! People here in the South don't handle the cold weather very well, and a lot of them drive like pure maniacs! It's NO wonder there are so many accidents here!! YIKES!! Did you get any snow out of the weather up there in Tennessee? I hope so; I know you like the snow, especially in time for Christmas!
I am glad that you got Christmas off when you originally were scheduled to work. That is SUPER news! I bet that is hard to work on a holiday like Christmas! Makes me glad I am not a nurse or a server in a restaurant; heard that the Golden Corral here is going to be open for Christmas! I bet there'll be NOBODY there! So WHY even be OPEN?? That does NOT make ANY sense whatsoever!! There are other restaurants scheduled to be open too, but I only know of Golden Corral.
It sounds like you are going to have a house FULL of people for Christmas! I am happy for you, but where are you going to put everyone?? YIKES!! LOL You must love chaos! LOL I would personally prefer a quiet, sedentary Christmas myself, but with Bethlehem being sick in the hospital, I don't know...our Christmas isn't going to be very merry anyway, especially if she ends up losing her legs...Merry WHOOPSIN' Christmas to us is more like it!! BAH the humbug!! Then people wonder why I am not feeling so merry this holiday season! Have you ever had a kid in the hospital during Christmas? I bet you have, and I bet it is anything BUT merry!! How DO you handle that? I am about to go stir crazy with worry, and I am trying to be happy for my husband and my remaining kids, but it is so. DAMNED. HARD!!!! I also have my little second cousin to worry about, and it is all I can do to keep from crying! Everytime I hear a Christmas song on the radio I just break down into tears because I am feeling everything BUT Christmasey at the present time!!
Well, I am going to go now; I am crying again. That is all I have been doing since Bethie went into the hospital and then finding out about my cousin's baby girl being born with so many things wrong with her! A tiny baby shouldn't have to suffer like that!! Life sure ins't fair at times; and it is enough to make me want to give up hope!!
Again, please pray for me! Try to have a good Christmas break, and enjoy your family and your time off from work! Meanwhile, I will try to have a good one, but with the way things are now, I somehow doubt it.

I know how Donna feels. I don't feel Christmasy either. I wish we could just skip it this year. Too much has happened to feel cheery. great write though!!
Karen such a great story ,but os so sad! Though it happens to many all the time, illness around the holidays seems so unfair. Unfortunately our bodies don't act according to holiday's;-) Lots of sharing too in this splendid write!
