Louisiana, who is sick with a bout of the flu, writes to her daughter, who is in college at Louisiana State University-Lafayette, before her daughter comes home for the Christmas break.

Dear Dwerlina~
This won't be a long letter: it seems that I have caught a bug somewhere. I have had a headache, chills, and an upset stomach (I already threw up twice since getting up to go to work; needless to say, I am not at work, as I am in bed), and I also feel feverish. I feel AWFUL!
So daddy is playing "Mr. Mom" whilest I am in bed, nursing my poor sick body. I don't know where I picked up this thing, but I surely hope that I am over it by the time you come and by the time Jenna and Michael (as well as Sari and Nikolas) come! I don't need a house full of sick people for Christmas, that is for DARN sure! I also hope that I am over it by Friday or Saturday, so we can go to church for the Christmas Eve services! The kids are aware that mama (ME!) is sick in bed, so they are being extra quiet, and they are trying their hardest to be good!
I have a new friend that I write to as part of the adoption community I belong to: a lady from England read my book, and she wrote me a very nice letter. I just wrote her back (I wrote her a novel; you know I am famous for my long, wordy letters! LOL), and I expect to hear from her in a few days. She has three little boys from Russia, and she also has a littler girl, who was adopted from China. Her name is Rosamunde Alcorn, and she is a homemaker while her husband, Angus, drives a truck for a pharmacy company in London, where they live. She seems like a very interesting person, and I can't wait to hear from her again!
The weather is nice out, but I am much too sick to enjoy it. All I can think of is my roiling tummy and the fact that I just feel cruddy all over, and I am hoping that I am over this flu (or whatever it is that I have) before Christmas Day! I will see you in a few days, and I will talk to you then. Have a very safe trip here, and...I can't WAIT to see you!! I miss you so much! And I love you for all eternity!! I will go now; feels like I have to pay a visit to the bathroom before too long...*URRRP!*

The flu bug sure picks the worst times to get you sick. Stay warm and drink plenty of liquids none alcholic. Merry Christmas and I hope you are better to enjoy it.

I know exactly how she feels. I was in the same boat about a week ago. It really sucks to be sick, especially around the holidays. Hope she feels better soon. Great Write!!
