Louisiana Sandusky's newest email pal, Rosie Alcorn, from London, England, writes her friend back.

Dear Louisiana In America~
Hullo! This is your friend, Rosamunde Alcorn! Thanks so very much for your very inspirational and uplifting letter of the other day; it was so wonderful to hear from you again! I delighted in reading about your Miracle Family, and I am so glad that things are so better for you, in relation to your health and well being! I am so glad that your back surgery you had back in the spring was a smashing success; that must be wonderful to be able to walk withOUT appliances, and that must be wonderful NOT to have the pain you had for so long! How simply MARVELOUS!! I also enjoyed hearing about Arjun, Rani, and Janica joining your family; I know that this will be one Christmas you will NEVER forget!!
My Christmas will be quiet, but I don't know if Angus will get back in time for us to celebrate and opening our presents. So I guess I will have to play Santa for the children. Oh, well, I don't mind, but I know that little Millie will be scared when she sees me donning hubby's red Santa Claus suit and a fake beard; I just hope that she (and the boys) sleep through this! LOL This will prove to be quite interesting indeed....
I hope the weather will be good there. Here it is raining to beat the band: a pesty low is going through here, and it is bringing with it heavy rain and high winds; we get those from time to time, especially during the winter. It is really nasty out, and poor Brighton, Peter, and Alastaire are bored to tears. They can't wait to have Santa come, so they can open their gifts come Christmas morn, and then we have Boxing Day to look forward to, when the kiddies will get more presents. They are going to have toys coming out their rear; and I just wonder how long the novelty will last before they either break them or they become bored with them! LOL Time will only tell, eh?? *Grins*
Are your children home yet, and do you have your other company in from Alaska and Finland? I bet you are having a wonderful time, and I pray that they got there safe and sound. I heard about the jetliner who had a rough landing at Boston's airport, and they had it on the BBC and on CNN; it was really tense watching that huge jetliner rolling down the runway, with sparks coming from the wheels! I was so scared that the plane would crash or run into something, thus creating a major disaster, but I thank God that He was in control of the situation, and that it ended as well as it did! I never was so relieved in all my days when that plane finally came to a merciful stop!! I am a real news hound; I and my husband both enjoy watching the news on the telly: we like to know what is going on in our crazy world! Such goings on today...it is enough to make me want to shake my head in disbelief or cry!!
Louie (may I call you that??), your children are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I loved the picture of the children you put on your last email; that last child (the grinning little girl on the bottom) must be your daughter, Jodie, you talked about in your book, but who are the others? I don't recognise any of them...let me know, okay?
Please do tell your Christmas babies (aka Johnathon and Ronee') Merry Christmas AND Happy Birthday from me! Thirteen years old, and you have had them both since they were babies! My! I bet they ARE getting big! Kids have a way of growing up quickly; it seems like only yesterday when Brighton, Alastaire, and Peter were but mere babes themselves! Now they are big brothers to Millie, and they love her fiercely and loyally! I can't find three better big brothers than in my own sons, and I am so proud of all three of them! At first, they were jealous when we adopted Millie into our family, but they soon took to her, and now they are her protectors, and they are very happy big brothers! Not a hint of jealousy now to be had! (Thank the LORD!! LOL) It is going to be a lovely Christmas, too, what with Millie being here, and she is really fascinated by all the twinkling lights, the happy Christmas music, and the decorations festooning the countryside, but she is quite frightened of Santa Claus (here we call him St. Nick): just the very sight of his huge, flowing white beard, red-and-white coloured suit and hat, and his big, black galoshes are enough to cause her to go into fits of screaming hysterics. No matter how hard we try, we just can't calm Millie down whenever she happens to catch sight of Santa! I wish she could see that he will not hurt her in any way, but I guess she is acting like a typical toddler because a LOT of tots scream whenever they see Santa Claus! (How did YOU handle YOUR children's fear of Santa when they were small? I would like to know because it really breaks my heart to see Millie so upset!!)
Well, dear friend, I know you are busy with your company, and you would like to visit them, so I will let you go. I have chewed on your ear long enough; seems that I am catching your chatty nature! LOL I just wanted to write and thank you for your last email, and I also wanted to wish you a very Merry Chrstmas and much happiness in the New Year! God bless your family, and talk to you soon! Ta-ta for now!
Love, your new friend in England, Rosie Alcorn. :)
I understand why small children scream at the sight of Santa. He's not a man you see everyday or even once a month! He comes to town like a stranger once a year and doesn't even dress the way other men the children have seen dress. A big, fat man with a red suit, a long white beard, wire-framed glasses, and black boots saying HO-HO-HO, those words not even words we hear except from Santa one time a year. Maybe Santa needs to come down from the North Pole more during the year to familiarize himself with the kids. We have a tourist attraction here that is world famous and you can see Santa Claus every day of the year. The kids love this place called the North Pole here where Santa and the elves build all the toys. Thanks for the letter today, Karen Lynn.
Karen you must have a mind that writes even while you sleep!;-) This is a loving letter that would warm the arctic nights. Your ability to remember names and customs of such a wide range of people boggles my mind! Beautifully done!
