Ronee' writes about the new year and the hope that it holds in her life.
January 3, 2006 (it's a brand new year, folks!! :) )~
Dear Journal~
Hey! It's me, Ronee', now THIRTEEN years old! :) Happy New Year to each and every one of my friends, and Happy New Year to my life this year!! I hope it is as good as last year was; last year was probably my best year EVER!! :)
I am doing GREAT in relation to my health, and my breathing is improving each and every day. I have a feeling it won't be long before Dr. Emmons or Dr. Lung (DON'T laugh; but that is my respiratory doctor's REAL last name! :) ) take me off my supplimental oxygen COMPLETELY, and I am already down to just one pill (twice a day) and one inhaler!! Also, my arthritis, while it still pains me, I haven't had a big flare in MONTHS, and I am getting around better than I have been able to in a long time since my hip replacement surgery last spring!! :) I just pray and HOPE that all this good news continues!
I had a wonderful Christmas, and I had an equally good New Year. For Christmas, we had company from Finland and Alaska, and my sisters in Louisiana and Texas (as well as Colorado) came too, and it was so good to see everyone! I got a lot of nice things, and I got tons of new clothes and stuff for my hair, and I also got lots of perfume and good smelling bath soaps! I also got some new DVD's and CD's, and I got some new Christian youth books and some of the more popular books out there for teenaged readers (Christian-based, that is). I also got some new art stuff, and I got the good news about my asthma/breathing, so it was a greeeeeeeeeat year end celebration for SURE!! :) My New Year was good, too: I went to the movies with some of my friends; we saw "Cheaper By The Dozen 2" with Steve Martin, and it was cute. We also went out to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe', and we just hung around and talked and laughed! But now my Christmas vacation is over, and I am back at school: I am writing this entry at the library while I study for a test we are having later this week, in English. I am not worried about it; English has always been very easy for me.
I still haven't really talked to Nicole Aldape all that much: it's like she is ignoring me, and that really makes me sad because she and I were real tight for over six years, and now, it's like we've drifted apart. I hope I find another friend who was as nice (and understanding) as Nicole, and while I DO have friends now, I still haven't found a friend who even COMPARES to Nicole! It's rather depressing, but I am not going to give up hope! God may have someone else in mind! Lord, I sure hope so! She has not been doing good AT all, and it worries me to see her suffering like she has! I hope it is nothing serious!
I am worried about several things, and as a result, my heart is heavy today. Besides worrying about Nicole, I am also worried about the dry weather/fires in Texas (I have an aunt that lives there), and I am worried, too, about the excess amounts of rain that have hit California (I have friends there). I also am scared about those 13 coal miners in West Virginia who have been trapped since SUNDAY in a mine explosion, and as each minute ticks by, there's less and less hope for their survival. I hope God performs some sort of miracle in that situation; that must be horrible waiting for word from your husband/brother/uncle, etc., and not knowing ANYTHING, and watching all the tense rescue efforts unfolding before your eyes!! I feel so bad for the miner's relatives and loved ones!! So my mood has been fluctuating the past few days. I am happy one minute, and sad the next. CRAZY!! (Maybe it's part of my being a teenager now; I don't know, but it is driving me BATS!!!)
Well, I will go now, dear Journal. I will write in here again whenever the mood strikes me. Take care, dear Journal, and God bless!
Love, your gal pal, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux, aged 13. :) :( (Sad and glad at the same time!)
Ronee' has turned out to be a compassionate young lady. And let's hope there is a reconciliation of friendship for her and Nicole. Just tell Ronee' that another woman by the name of Paris Hilton had a fallout with her friend NICOLE Ritchie! Girlz will be girlz! Thanks for the letter today, Karen Lynn.
Beautiful compassionate addition to Ronee's journal Karen! All we can do is keep the miners in prayer! Life is never easy is it...I hope and pray you gals get some much needed wet stuff. It's dark and rainy here again today and I pray some of it comes your way real soon!
A very caring journal entry. Ronee' is such a caring, gentle character, like actually a lot of kids her age. Very well done, Karen,
love and hugs, Birgit and Roger
